On Saturday, June 11, 2022, Mayor Steve Horton presented Kiddie Castle Day Care Center a proclamation honoring them for 50 years of service to Covington and proclaiming June 11, 2022 as "“Kiddie Castle Day Care Center Day.”
Joyce and Ludie Childers, affectionately known as Ms. Joyce and Mr. Ludie, opened Kiddie Castle Day Care Center on Clark Street in Covington, Georgia on May 19, 1972. Over the last 50 years, they have provided jobs to more than a 100 day care workers collectively and have remained a strong and stable contributing business partner and safe place for kids in this community. Ms. Joyce, Mr. Ludie, and now son Richie, are continuing their tradition of being the first one’s at work and the last ones to leave to meet the critical day care needs of children and parents.
Congratulations to Kiddie Castle Day Care Center and thank you for their contributions to Covington!
