Allow us to introduce our Production Manager and Oxford Program Administrator, Kayla Edwards Dobbs. She describes herself as the “mom” of the theatre. From scheduling meetings, to making sure directors have what they need, to costuming and prop making, she has a hand in all of our productions.

Here is a special note from her about her experience with the Arts Association:

“The best part of my job is hands-down being able to watch our students grow as artists year after year. I have the privilege to get to know them during shows and concerts, and once they’re old enough, also as Interns. In the last few years I have taken over our Intern Program and have loved being able see our students become leaders within our organization. Seeing the affect of the Arts on these students and the way they view those around them and our world is truly amazing. As a new mom, I am so grateful to have this organization because I know my child will grow up surrounded by music, theatre, dance and all of the beautiful togetherness the Arts bring to our community.” 💜

Take a look at this story in The Newton Community Magazine about our very own Newton County Community Band director Alan Fowler!

Read D. Alan Fowler’s story written by Nat Harwell at: http://thenewtoncommunity.com/arts-education-innovation/passing-the-baton/

PASSING THE BATON
D. Alan Fowler’s drive for excellence in music turned the Eastside High School band program into the envy of countless others. Having turned over the reins to one of his proteges following the 2021–22 school year, he now charts his course into a new frontier with the Georgia Music Educators Association.
