We are so proud to congratulate Mr. Johnny Edwards, Oxford Singers Artistic Director, on being named a Top 3 Finalist for Newton County Schools Teacher of the Year!

Mr. Edwards serves as Choral Director at Newton High School, where he continues to inspire and invest in young musicians throughout our community.

This past spring, he helped give our singers an unforgettable opportunity as they traveled to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall — just one example of the passion, dedication, and excellence he brings to his students every day.

We are incredibly proud to have Mr. Edwards as part of the Arts Association family. Please join us in congratulating him!

🎉 SURPRISE! WE HAVE A FINALIST! 🎉

Our first stop of the morning took us to Newton High School, where we surprised Choral Director Mr. Johnny Edwards with some very exciting news—he is one of THREE FINALISTS for Newton County Schools’ 2027 Teacher of the Year! 🏆

Congratulations, Mr. Edwards! We are so excited to celebrate you and this outstanding achievement. Your passion for music, commitment to your students, and impact on the Newton High School community have earned you a spot among our district’s top three!

Help us congratulate Mr. Johnny Edwards, 2027 Newton County Teacher of the Year FINALIST! 👏🎶🎉
