Upper Elementary was busy this week—making ice cream, baking homemade bread, preparing stone soup, and enjoying a day of crafts and games before our winter music show.

Last night staff celebrated the holidays with a “Paint and Sip”.
While staff painted their cake slices and sipped their tea, Secret Santa’s were busy delivering gifts to all the good teachers 🍎

Upper Elementary and Level 3 Lower Elementary students put their engineering minds to work, building the tallest paper tower they could imagine.

Montessori math is not only about memorizing facts. It is about building a mathematical mind. Concrete manipulatives help children move from hands on experience to deep conceptual understanding, strengthening cognitive skills such as reasoning, working memory and problem solving. Memorization is included where necessary, but it is supported by meaningful, hands on learning that helps children truly understand the concepts behind the numbers. Research shows that tangible manipulatives significantly enhance mathematical learning compared with abstract only instruction.

No wonder so many Montessori children develop a genuine love for math!
