Last week, we gathered with early childhood leaders from across our region for a powerful day of learning with nationally recognized expert Dan Wuori.

Dan brought early brain development to life and sparked many inspirations, and we’re deeply grateful to him for sharing his expertise, energy and passion with our community.

This experience was made possible by Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the Charles H. Dater Foundation, and their generous investment allowed us to extend the learning beyond Learning Grove. Many thanks, too, to United Way of Greater Cincinnati for opening up your space in support and partnership. We couldn’t think of a better convening space than with our region’s strongest community convener.

Raising the bar for early learning isn’t work any one organization can do alone; when we learn together, we deliver even brighter beginnings for children and families throughout our community.

The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC), in partnership with the , today announced operational updates for the highly anticipated Findlay Community Hub () in North Over-the-Rhine (OTR). Construction on the facility is now 75% complete, keeping the project on schedule to open its doors to the public in January 2027. Ahead of the grand opening, 3CDC has finalized agreements with two premier regional institutions to guide the facility’s programming and daily operations: TriHealth and Learning Grove.

The $48 million, 60,000 square-foot community center and 8,400 square-foot early learning childcare center are a crucial investment north of Liberty Street. 3CDC will maintain oversight of the City owned facility, working with both operators to ensure a seamless, best-in-class environment that delivers high-quality amenities to all neighborhood residents.

"The Findlay Community Hub was designed from the beginning to be a transformative space that addresses the needs and wants of the OTR" said Christy Samad, EVP of Civic and Commercial Activation at 3CDC. "By pairing TriHealth’s health management expertise with Learning Grove’s stellar reputation for early childhood education, we are fulfilling our promise to deliver exceptional programming. 3CDC is proud to stand alongside these two operators to ensure this space is safe, high-quality, and accessible to all."

To ensure the facility’s mission of equitable access, membership plans will be modeled after ’s successful "Everybody In" initiative. The Hub will feature an income-based sliding scale to guarantee that every resident, regardless of socioeconomic background, enjoys full access to the Hub’s facilities.

We are honored and thrilled to share that Interact for Health recently granted Learning Grove a $70,000 Rural Changemaker Grant for our "Co-Creating Career Pathways to Strengthen Health in Rural Northern Kentucky" initiative. Our work here will focus on youth workforce development in Bracken, Gallatin, Grant and Pendleton counties.

This investment is especially critical in rural communities, where students may have fewer opportunities to explore careers and discover where their strengths can take them. Bringing meaningful enrichment and career experiences closer to home helps young people build confidence, envision promising futures and gain the skills they need to thrive while strengthening the long-term vitality of their communities.

Shoutout to our team in Lower Price Hill for rolling up their sleeves and going door-to-door to let our neighbors know that we're currently enrolling preschoolers at our Robert and Adele Schiff Early Learning Center!

Today, it’s a restaurant. Tomorrow, it could be a campsite! It looks like "just pretend," but these children are doing very real work.

Dramatic play gives children the freedom to try on new roles, negotiate ideas, build language and creativity, solve problems and see the world through someone else’s eyes. It’s constructivism in action: children shaping their own learning through experiences that matter to them.

At Learning Grove, our teachers know when to join the story, when to gently stretch a child’s thinking...and when to stand back and admire.

At Learning Grove, play is where the deepest learning begins. 🌱

Jamie and Payton are on Learning Grove's School Age Services team at Ludlow Independent Schools, creating meaningful and FUN learning and enrichment experiences for students throughout the school year through SHINE, providing before- and after-school programming for grades K-6; and, SOAR, providing after-school programming for grades 7-9.
