After conducting a national search that drew candidates from across the country, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Lane as our next Head of Upper School!
For over ten years, Mr. Lane has worked in a variety of educational institutions that stretch from middle school through higher education, both public and Catholic. Originally from South Texas, he completed a double BA in History and Political Science at Baylor University. His Baylor professors nurtured Mr. Lane’s love of history and encouraged him to pursue graduate studies, which brought him to Louisiana. At LSU, his graduate studies focused on British History and Medieval Europe.
Since graduate school, Mr. Lane has taught classes in history, literature, and theology. Alongside teaching, he has enjoyed coaching and mentoring teachers to help them reach their full potential. Mr. Lane also serves as the Asst. Editor for Joie de Vivre: A Journal of Art, Culture, and Letters for South Louisiana, and he serves the Executive Board for the Catholic Men’s Conference in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Lane is excited to join Holy Family Academy where classical education and the Gospel are fully integrated in an authentic Catholic environment. He looks forward to partnering with families to deepen both the interior and intellectual lives of HFA students and faculty.
He and his wife, Jordan, have three children. They enjoy hiking, reading, gardening, and simply spending time together.
