Please join us in welcoming Dr. Jamie Roedersheimer as the new Assistant Principal at Covington Elementary!

With 20 years in education, Dr. Roedersheimer has served as a kindergarten teacher, 5th grade ELA teacher, school counselor, and educational leader. A passionate advocate for literacy, she believes that putting a book in every child’s hands is one of the greatest investments we can make in the future.

Dr. Roedersheimer and her husband, Wesley, have three beautiful daughters. When she’s not at school, you’ll find her reading, golfing, or bringing her competitive spirit to family card games.

We are excited to have Dr. Roedersheimer join the Covington Elementary family and look forward to the impact she will make on our students, staff, and community!

P.S. You can forgive her later when she yells Roll Tide on Saturdays!

We had an amazing visit from Dr. Craig Wilson from Texas A&M University, Director of the USDA Future Scientists Program, who partners with TN Ag in the Classroom to bring hands-on science to students!

Students learned how agriculture connects to space and science through exciting experiments like rocket launches, astronaut vision challenges, space food taste tests, and even discovering how seedless oranges are grown. They explored everything from popcorn plants to (yes!) a screaming cockroach! Students even got to analyze elephant p**p.

It was a fun, engaging day full of learning, laughter, and unforgettable hands-on experiences.

Thank you Covington FFA for the super cool experience.

• Multimedia & Performance Arts: Full Recording Studio—create your own tracks and music videos, hip-hop dance lessons, TikTok competitions, and Create your own personal brand!

• Creative Arts: Pottery, painting, photography, tie-dye T-shirt contests, making bath bombs & body spray!

• Culinary Creations: Cook easy-to-make meals, make homemade ice cream, cupcake decorating competitions, and a high-energy “Chopped” challenge!

• Adulting 101: Real-life skills like changing a tire, doing a load of laundry, lawn care, basic banking, and tours of regional employers to explore future careers.

• Serving our City: Give back through visits with senior residents, creating our very own park, community clean-ups, and volunteering at the community garden.
