🐾 Reality Check. Real-Life Lessons. Bright Futures!

Our CMS 8th graders participated in Reality Check this morning, gaining valuable lessons about financial decisions and the responsibilities that come with adulthood!

This special opportunity was made possible by community members, GearUp Longwood (thank you for coming Emily Hogge), current and retired Division Leadership, AHS staff and students, and so many others who generously shared their time and talents. THANK YOU for investing in our students and their futures! 💙

A HUGE shout-out to Mrs. Steege for organizing an outstanding event, with the support of our wonderful 8th grade staff!

We heard so many compliments about our Class of 2031, and we couldn’t be prouder! Seeing them gathered on the front lawn in their new class shirts was a special way to celebrate this group of Cougars - thank you Mrs. Simmons, Mr. Bradley and the entire 8th grade staff for pulling this amazing photo off! 🐾

To everyone who helped make today meaningful - thank you for showing our students that their future matters and that a whole community is cheering them on!

Today, on National Custodian Day, we proudly celebrate four incredible members of our CMS family! Their work goes far beyond keeping our building clean - they care for our school, look out for our students, support our staff, solve problems, lend a hand, and help make CMS a place we are proud to call ours.
So much of what they do happens quietly and behind the scenes, but their impact is felt in every hallway, classroom, and corner of our school.
To our amazing custodial team: THANK YOU for your hard work, your dedication, and the pride you take in caring for CMS every single day. We see you. We appreciate you. And we are incredibly grateful for YOU! 🐾💙
CMS simply wouldn’t be CMS without you!

🗺️🏁 MAP YOUR ROUTE, COUGARS! 🏁🗺️

Tomorrow we continue our CMS GEAR UP Week journey with another exciting Spirit Day!

💙 THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
🗺️ MAP YOUR ROUTE
👔 DRESS FOR SUCCESS DAY
✨ Look the Part. Be the Part!

Tomorrow, we’re inviting our Cougars to DRESS FOR SUCCESS and show us that they are ready to take on their futures!

But this day is about so much more than dressing up. 💙

When we ask our students to Map Your Route, we are asking them to begin thinking about the possibilities ahead of them. Where do you want to go? What interests you? What are your strengths? What opportunities are out there - and what can you begin doing right now to move toward your goals?

There is no single road to success.

College. Career. Military. Skilled trades. Apprenticeships. Entrepreneurship. The workforce. Different paths. Different dreams. Endless possibilities.

And our middle schoolers do NOT have to have it all figured out yet! This is their time to explore, discover, dream, ask questions, set goals, and begin preparing.

Because the future isn't something our Cougars simply wait for...

It is something they begin building TODAY. 💙🐾

So tomorrow, straighten those ties, button those collars, put on those dresses, blazers, polos - or whatever makes you feel ready to take on the world - and let's show everyone that CMS IS FUTURE READY! ✨

🐾 Classes of 2031, 2032 & 2033 - your future matters!

🏁 Dream Big.
🗺️ Explore Your Options.
💙 Prepare Today.
✨ Believe in Tomorrow.

Choose Your Track. Chase Your Dream.

💗🦋 SHADES ON. FUTURES BRIGHT! 🕶️💙

Friday, September 25 is going to be an EXTRA special day at Covington Middle School!

We are bringing together two celebrations with one powerful message: DREAM BIG! ✨

🏁 CMS GEAR UP WEEK FINALE - Race Toward Your Future!
All week, our Cougars have been encouraged to dream, explore their possibilities, think about the paths ahead of them, and begin preparing for their futures. On Friday, we cross the finish line together with “Shades On, Futures Bright!” 🕶️

Students are encouraged to rock their favorite shades as we celebrate our Classes of 2031, 2032 & 2033 and remind every Cougar that their future is full of possibility. 💙🐾

But Friday is even more special...

💗🦋 CMS is also joining our community in celebrating DOLLY PARTON DAY!

Dolly Parton’s incredible commitment to literacy through her Imagination Library reminds us that every book can open a door - to imagination, learning, dreams, and possibilities that can last a lifetime. 📚✨

So we’re adding a little Dolly spirit to our GEAR UP celebration! Wear PINK, bring your BUTTERFLY SPIRIT 🦋, and don’t forget those SHADES! 🕶️💗

Because whether we are encouraging a child to open a book or encouraging a middle school student to imagine the career they may someday pursue, the message is the same:

Dream. Learn. Believe. Prepare. And never stop imagining what is possible.

💗 Wear Pink.
🦋 Bring Your Butterfly Spirit.
🕶️ Rock Your Favorite Shades.
🐾 Show Your Cougar Pride.

Friday, we celebrate literacy, dreams, possibilities, and the bright futures ahead of EVERY Cougar.

🏁 Choose Your Track. Chase Your Dream.
🕶️ Shades On. Futures Bright!
📚 Every book opens a door.
💙 Your future matters.

We cannot wait to see CMS filled with pink, butterflies, shades, Cougar pride, and BIG DREAMS on Friday! 💗🦋🕶️🐾

🏁 GEAR UP WEEK: DRESS LIKE YOUR FUTURE CAREER! 🏁

Today, our Cougars are looking toward the future! 💙🐾

For Wednesday’s GEAR UP Spirit Day, we’re asking students to DRESS LIKE YOUR FUTURE CAREER and show us what you can be! 👩‍⚕️👨‍🏫👩‍🔧👨‍🍳👩‍💻👨‍🚒🎨🪖🎓

Whether you dream of becoming a teacher, nurse, engineer, chef, mechanic, artist, entrepreneur, first responder, member of the military - or something that hasn’t even been invented yet - your future starts with the choices you make today.

You don’t have to have your entire future figured out. Keep dreaming. Keep exploring. Keep discovering your strengths and talents. Most importantly, believe that there is a future worth preparing for - and that YOU have what it takes to get there.

🏎️ Choose Your Track. Chase Your Dream.
💙 Your Future Matters.
🐾 Future Ready.
✨ A Brighter Tomorrow Starts TODAY!

We can’t wait to see our Cougars dressed for their futures today! Show us what YOU can be! 💙🐾

🏁💙 GET READY, COUGARS - TOMORROW IS SPIRIT DAY! 💙🏁

On Tuesday, September 22, we will continue GEAR UP Week by Exploring Our Tracks!

Students and staff are encouraged to wear clothing representing a college, career, military branch, trade, or technical program that interests them. Whether your future includes a university, healthcare, education, military service, engineering, the arts, skilled trades, technology, or another exciting pathway - we want you to represent it proudly!

Middle school is the perfect time to begin exploring possibilities, discovering your strengths, and dreaming about where your future may take you. You do not have to know exactly where the road leads yet - you simply have to be willing to explore!

🎓 Explore the possibilities.
🛠️ Discover your path.
⭐ Represent your future.
