☕️💙 A SWEET START TO OUR DAY AT CMS! 💙☕️
We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Carolina, owner of The Pour Mare, and Hope for stopping by Covington Middle School on Monday and treating our entire faculty and staff to complimentary coffee and specialty drinks of their choice! 🥤☕️
What an incredibly thoughtful and generous way to show some love to our CMS team! Our staff works so hard each and every day for our students, and having someone take the time to make them feel appreciated and cared for means more than you know.
Carolina and Hope - thank you for your graciousness, your generosity, and for making our day a little brighter (and definitely more caffeinated! 😉). We are so grateful!

🐾💙 CMS COUGAR FAMILY NEWSLETTER - WEEK AHEAD! 💙🐾

CMS Families, what an AMAZING first three days we had! We are so thankful to have our students back in the building, and we are excited for another great week at CMS!

📣 We especially want you to make plans to join us THIS TUESDAY NIGHT, August 18! We have a very special evening planned for our students and families with Carlos “Chu” Aguirre from CoolSpeak. We want to PACK THE HOUSE and have as many of our Cougar families with us as possible! It is going to be a fun, energetic, and meaningful night that you won't want to miss!

And students...there's a little something extra on the line! 👀🏁

Tomorrow, we will announce a SPECIAL 4th PERIOD CLASS COMPETITION connected to Tuesday night's Family Engagement event. That's all we're saying for now! 🤐 Students will get ALL the details at school tomorrow...but trust us, you're going to want your family there Tuesday night! 😏🏆

🐾💙 WHAT A WAY TO END OUR FIRST WEEK! 💙🐾
Friday evening, CMS celebrated our Back-to-School Dance, and what a special time we had!
After the storm passed and the gym cleared from afternoon buses, our Cougars headed to the gym for an evening filled with friends, laughter, snacks, music, dancing, and lots of great memories! 💃🕺🎶
A HUGE shout-out to the amazing CMS staff members who stayed after an already busy first week of school and gave up part of their Friday evening to make this event possible:

We are SO excited to welcome Carlos “Chu” Ojeda Jr. of CoolSpeak to Covington Middle School on Tuesday, August 18th! 🎤🔥

During the school day, Chu will bring his incredible energy, enthusiasm, and powerful message to our CMS students and staff. But the excitement doesn’t stop when the school day ends!

🐾 CMS BACK-TO-SCHOOL DANCE! 🐾

All Middle School students, grades 6th through 8th, join us Friday, August 14, from 4:00–6:30 PM for music, dancing, friends, and fun - with DJ Shiflett in the house! 🎧🎉

The dance is open to CMS students in grades 6–8. Tickets are $5, and a signed permission form is required. Just plan to stay after school and the dance will start at 4:00 pm.

All students will receive a dance permission form as they enter through the main entrance at CMS for our Back-to-School Event tomorrow, August 10th. Please complete the form and return it with $5 to purchase a ticket. You can turn your money in with completed permission form at our Back to School event tomorrow, or you can bring it to school with you Wednesday through Friday at 1:30 pm. No tickets will be sold at the door.

💙 Start your engines, Cougars - let’s kick off an amazing school year! We would LOVE to have all of you stay and join the fun!

We are excited to welcome our CMS Cougars and families back for the 2026–2027 school year!

Parents and students are welcome to stop by anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to visit CMS, meet teachers, and prepare for the new school year!

🎊 Back-to-School Block Party held from 4:00–6:00 p.m. for fun and plenty of Cougar Pride!

We cannot wait to see our students and families and begin our Race to Excellence together!

📚 Covington Middle School 2026–2027 General Supply List 📚

As we get ready for another incredible year at Covington Middle School, we wanted to share our General Student Supply List for all students in grades 6–8.

📝 General Supplies are the basic items that most students will need throughout the school year, regardless of their schedule. These supplies will help students come to school prepared and ready to learn from day one.

❤️ Our Wish List is completely optional and is simply an opportunity for families who would like to help support our classrooms. Throughout the year, we go through a tremendous number of items like tissues, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer. Donations of these supplies help ensure our classrooms stay stocked and ready to support all students.

Please know that Wish List items are NOT required, and there is absolutely no expectation that families purchase them. We are grateful for any donation - no matter how big or small.

If your family needs assistance obtaining school supplies for your student, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here at Covington Middle School. We want every Cougar to begin the school year with the tools they need to be successful, and we will gladly help in any way we can. We are here for you. 💙

Tomorrow, we proudly celebrate our amazing 8th grade students as they cross the stage for promotion and begin the next chapter of their journey. These students have worked hard, grown tremendously, and represented what it means to be a CMS Cougar. 🐾

We can’t wait to celebrate this special milestone with our students, families, staff, and community!
