Kent School District (KSD) will hold three community meetings about the Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Levy on the November 3, 2026, ballot. At the meetings, district staff will explain the levy, what it would pay for, and answer questions.

The EP&O Levy renews local funding for educational programs, services, and staff that the state does not fully pay for. Local levy funding makes up about 15% of the school district's general funding.

The meetings are scheduled for:
Thursday, October 22, 2026
6-7 p.m.
Covington Elementary School Library

Saturday, October 24, 2026
10-11 a.m.
Online via Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams Link available at www.kent.k12.wa.us/levy

Tuesday, October 27, 2026
6-7 p.m.
Kent Elementary School Library

The levy helps pay for student programs, teachers and staff, textbooks and curriculum, school safety, bus transportation, utilities, insurance, and other school costs.

Additional information about the Educational Programs and Operations Levy, including resources and updates, is available on the Kent School District website at www.kent.k12.wa.us/levy.

You don't have to bring a meal to be part of showing our teachers some love during conference week!

If bringing food isn't your thing, we'd still love your help with setting up before or cleaning up after the meals. Every helping hand makes a difference!

Let’s Feed Our Teachers During Conference Week!

Conference week means long days and late evenings for our incredible Cedar Valley teachers and staff. They’re giving their extra time to support our kiddos and connect with families, and we want to make sure they’re taken care of, too!

The PTA is providing dinner for our teachers and staff, and we’d love your help making it happen!

🌮 Monday, October 12 — Taco Bar
🥔 Tuesday, October 13 — Potato & Salad Bar

We’re looking for families to donate dishes, ingredients and other essentials to help us put together two delicious meals!

🔥 Bringing a hot dish? Please make sure it arrives hot and ready to serve, or include heating instructions and bring it early enough for us to reheat it before dinner.

📱 Using SignUpGenius on a mobile device? The signup may be more than one page. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and click “More” to view all available signup slots!

Every contribution—big or small—helps us show our teachers how much we appreciate them!

🗳️ The Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy is on the November 3 ballot.
➡️ This is a renewal of the current voter-approved levy, not a new tax. The levy provides about 15% of Kent School District's funding and helps cover costs not fully funded by the state.
➡️ The EP&O Levy helps fund teachers and staff, transportation, classroom materials, school safety, facilities, and college and career readiness.
➡️ Every levy dollar stays in Kent School District to support students.
