Newton County is pleased to announce two County facilities will be part of Newton County School System’s Free Summer Meals Program.

Nelson Heights Community Center and Denny Dobbs Park will have meals available for children 18 and under Monday through Thursday from June 3 until June 27. Meals will be available inside the Nelson Heights Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and under the pavilion at Denny Dobbs from noon to 1 p.m.

These are just two of the locations available this summer. More information on the program and other available locations will be upcoming.

We are serving up our new Caribbean Spiced Chicken Legs in all Middle and High schools today. Served with roasted plantains, sautéed cabbage, and fresh baked cornbread 🤤 (Elementary is on deck for tomorrow!)

Keep Newton Beautiful will host a Paper Shred Event on Monday, April 22, 2024. Residents of Newton County are welcome to bring up to five standard-sized moving boxes per person to the parking lot of the Newton County Library at 7116 Floyd Street in Covington from 9 a.m. - noon or until the shredding truck is full. Celebrating at Flint Hill Elementary today. We served a choice of chicken or steak with waffles, roasted carrots, roasted potatoes, fresh strawberries, and milk.

We ‘Surfed Up’ a new breakfast item called Early Risers this morning in honor of . They are hashbrowns stuffed with egg and cheese. Did you try one today?

Assistant Manager Libby at Cousins Middle School was excited to serve pork chops with sautéed cabbage, mashed potatoes with gravy, homemade cornbread, and peaches & cream today!
