It's been a wonderful first week at CES, where possibilities abound! From senior portraits and meet-your-teacher days to opening eucharist and back-to-school socials, it has been a full week of joy and excitement!

We can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!

And just like that, the first day of the 2026-2027 school year has come and gone!

There were smiles all around as our students in grades 1-12 returned to the Christwood Boulevard Campus (CBC) today! Lower and Middle School students started the day by reconnecting with friends, getting to know their teachers, and settling into their classrooms, while our Upper School students began the morning at Christ Episcopal Church, Covington, La for Opening Eucharist.

Next up: Our youngest learners will be back at the Early Childhood Campus in the coming days, and we can't wait to welcome them back, too!

It’s the last first day at CES for these senior Wildcats! Wishing the class of 2027 the best year yet!

Students who will be new to our Early Childhood Campus (ECC) this year were invited to Pinwheels & Popsicles on August 5.

These newest Wildcats and their families gathered for this exclusive time to meet the ECC teachers and staff, learn their way around the campus, and, of course, enjoy some cool treats while blowing bubbles with new friends on the playground!

What an exciting theater season we have ahead of us!

Registration is open now for student participation in all 2026-2027 CES theatrical productions! With a lineup featuring Alice and the Cheshire Cat, dragons, Miss Scarlet and Colonel Mustard, orphans, Whos and the Grinch, wizards, Elsa and Olaf, and a pride of mighty lions, there's quite literally something for everyone!

The first seven shows of the season are open to CES students only (the summer camp production of Disney's The Lion King JR is open to CES students and those in the greater community).

Jumping into the school year!

Incoming kindergarten students joined us for a week in July for Jumpstart, a program designed for some of our youngest Wildcats to meet new friends, have some fun, and get a “jump start” on learning!

The sessions included the introduction and reinforcement of academic skills; activities that strengthen fine and gross motor coordination; and exploration of their classrooms, the playground, and other areas of our Early Childhood Campus (ECC)!
We can’t wait to see these kindergarteners – and our EPK and Pre-K students – back full time later this week at the ECC!

Faculty and staff are back! We began the school year at Christ Episcopal Church, Covington, La with an opening prayer service and a welcome from Head of School Fr. Charles Latour.

It's great to all be together again, and it's a great year to be a Wildcat!

Today brought more happy faces to campus, as we welcomed many of our new faculty and staff members for the 2026-2027 school year! They enjoyed the day learning all about Christ Episcopal School and will be joined tomorrow by all returning faculty and staff members for four days of work, planning, and fellowship.

Please extend a warm welcome to these newest Wildcats when you see them around our campuses!

Join us in a warm welcome for some of our newest CES Wildcats! These are just a few of the new Upper School students who are going through orientation this week as they prepare for classes to start next week. And a shout-out to the student council members who are helping to make the days informative and fun!

Theater at CES is back this weekend!

Join us Friday or Saturday, July 17 or 18, for Bye Bye Birdie: Youth Edition, a hilarious, nostalgic, and heartwarming musical throwback to small-town America, early rock & roll, and teenage life in the late 1950s.

Follow along as the charmingly chaotic town of Sweet Apple, Ohio, gets turned upside down by the arrival of superstar Conrad Birdie. Our cast of amazing young performers has been working hard to bring you this fast-paced, one-hour adaptation of the beloved Broadway classic.

Why you can't miss it:

• Classic songs: Sing along to iconic hits like "Telephone Hour" and "Kids!"

• Electric energy: Spectacular dance numbers and non-stop laughs.

• Family-friendly runtime: At just more than an hour, it's the perfect length for theatergoers of all ages!

Curtain is 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and you'll find us in the Croxton Family Theater at our Christwood Boulevard Campus, 80 Christwood Blvd. in Covington.

Tickets are going fast, so grab yours now at https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/cesdrama/bye-bye-birdie.
