Our two-time district champion LHSAA volleyball team is riding high after their recent three-set win over a strong Lakeshore High School team. Led by seniors Caroline Koons, Mae Donald, Maddie Caba, Anna Caldin, and Colleen Simpson, the team, as of October 6, was ranked fifth in the state with six games left in the season.

In each of the past two seasons, the team qualified for the state playoffs and made it to the regional round of 16. The top eight teams in each division will travel this year to UL-Lafayette for the state championships, and the Lady Wildcats are making a bid to get to the "dome" for the first time in school history.

Senior Noah Clark currently has the number one time in the state for Div. VI cross country, and ran a 17:26 3-mile at the St. Thomas Aquinas Southland Steel CC invitational on September 26.

Clark has been a consistent top-10 finisher at cross country races this season. He and other seniors, including Roman Colson and Ariana Shad, continue to lead the teams as both our boys' and girls' teams look toward the state cross country meet, which will be held in Natchitoches November 16 and 17.

Congrats to our 10 seniors who have been recognized as AP Scholars!

A number of Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered to our Upper School students who want to tackle college-level work while still in high school. Each course culminates with an AP Exam, which is scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and many U.S. colleges grant credit and/or advanced placement for scores of 3 and above.

Juniors and seniors in our BioMed II Honors class recently completed an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) test to determine the path of a fictitious outbreak within a population of college students. Through the research, they were able to determine the path of the spread based on concentration of a bacterium.

Bayou Beats and Beignet Treats

Our Wildcats let the good times roll at the second annual kindergarten Louisiana Day! A celebration of the spirit of our state through exploration of the unique culture, the fun included making lagniappe bags, creating oyster keepsakes, enjoying a scavenger hunt, and tasting delicious Cajun food! The highlight, though, had to be dancing, singing, and playing traditional jazz instruments with the incredible Cajun Troubadours on the Fais-Do-Do Stage!

Congrats to Wildcats Oliver Jones and Emery Dupepe, who each earned top-10 honors in the Middle School Division at the St. Stanislaus Cross Country Meet on September 12 in Bay St. Louis, Miss.

Following the meet, there were also several members of the LHSAA varsity team that held overall top-10 times in the state (Division VI), including Noah Clark, Jakob Arbour, Gigi Soine, and Simone Soine.

This week we take part in Episcopal Schools Celebration (ESC), a week dedicated to celebrating the ministry of the 800+ Episcopal schools and early childhood education programs throughout the Episcopal Church.

ESC is the time set aside to celebrate our Episcopal identity! At CES, this year, our ESC theme will focus on seeking to serve others through prayer. Each day, our students will have an opportunity to participate in a prayer activity that encourages them to reflect on how prayer can deepen their faith and inspire them to serve others.

The week will culminate for us with Episcopal School Sunday this Sunday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Covington. Our students will participate in the service by serving, reading, and singing with the choir. We look forward to seeing you there!

Let’s take a moment this World Teachers’ Day to celebrate all of our amazing CES teachers! These dynamic and passionate educators represent the best of the best and are committed to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of each Christ Episcopal School student.

From those who guide the work of play at our Early Childhood Campus to those who inspire and serve as lifelong mentors to our Upper School students, our teachers are the heart of our school, and we are thankful for each and every one!

World Teachers' Day is celebrated globally on October 5 each year to honor educators and evaluate the state of the teaching profession worldwide. It was established in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Welcome to the 30+ Club, Wildcats!

Congrats to all of our students who scored a composite 30 or greater on the latest ACT, as well as those who scored 30 or greater on each individual section (math, science, English, and reading)! Also of note are the perfect 36 reading scores posted by Jackson Blache, Cade Bourgeois, and Evelyn Reed! And a shout-out to our Upper School faculty members, whose efforts to understand each student's individual learning style pave the way so that possibilities abound for each and every one.
