Today marks 25 years since 9/11. In Mrs. Edwards’s history class at Sierra Vista Middle School, students pledged to do acts of kindness in remembrance of the lives lost on that day. Throughout the week, students prepared blankets to donate to a local senior home, made patriotic posters that were displayed across campus, and listened to peoples’ stories and experiences of 9/11. Thank you, Mrs. Edwards and Sierra Vista students, for honoring today’s memory.

We are pleased to invite you to celebrate with us in a fun-filled community event as we officially dedicate the new Covina High School Aquatic and Athletics Complex!

Following the dedication ceremony, the celebration will continue with FREE burgers and Kona Ice, open swim for kids, an exhibition softball game, a faculty kickball game, facilities tours, and more.

The complex features new baseball and softball fields, track and field equipment, batting cages, futsal, volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, restrooms, a snack bar, and more.

Fall sports are officially underway at Traweek Middle School! Student-athletes are hitting the ground running as the cross country, cheer, basketball, and wrestling teams practice their skills, build teamwork, and develop strong character. Here’s to a great season ahead!

At Covina-Valley Unified, a love of reading starts early! Our first grade Eagles at Grovecenter Elementary School met their third and fourth grade reading buddies for the first time this year, kicking off opportunities to build friendships and strengthen their reading skills.

Covina-Valley Unified Back to School Nights were a resounding success! Families came together to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and learn more about what students can look forward to in the year ahead. It’s been a great start to another school year!

The Ben Lomond Bears are starting the year off strong by participating in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) rotations focused on building strong character. Students learned what it means to be responsible, respectful, and safe, building the skills needed for another successful school year.

More than 150 Covina-Valley Unified middle school students spent part of their summer exploring career pathways through hands-on learning at the District’s Career Technical Education Summer Camp! Students participated in engaging projects and explored a variety of career industries, gaining valuable experience while discovering new possibilities for their futures.

The Covina High School girls volleyball team is off to a great start this season! With multiple wins already in the books and individual student-athletes setting personal career records, the Colts are showing that it’s shaping up to be another exciting and competitive season.
