🏗️💙 MUSTANGS ON THE JOB SITE! | EIGHT MILE BRIDGE FIELD TRIP 💙🏗️

Our Round Valley High School students had an incredible opportunity to get boots on the ground, hard hats on, and gloves up during our recent field trip to the Eight Mile Bridge construction project, hosted by Ghilotti Construction Company!

Students received a guided tour from the project site manager and engineer and experienced firsthand what it takes to bring a major construction project to life. This wasn't just a field trip—it was an opportunity for our students to step directly into a working job site and see possible futures for themselves.

👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ Throughout the visit, students met and talked with professionals working in a variety of roles, including:
• Project managers and engineers
• Foremen and safety officers
• Crane and heavy-equipment operators
• Skilled laborers and other members of the construction crew

Students learned about the different career pathways available within the construction industry, how union apprenticeship programs work, and the training and experience that can lead to well-paying careers in the trades. They were also provided information about how to apply for summer internship opportunities with Ghilotti Construction.

Experiences like this matter. When students can stand on an active job site, talk directly with the people doing the work, ask questions, and see the skills they are learning connected to real careers, possibilities become much more tangible.

💙 Round Valley High School is incredibly grateful to Ghilotti Construction and the entire Eight Mile Bridge crew for welcoming our Mustangs, taking the time to teach and answer questions, and treating our students with such kindness and respect.

Thank you for investing your time, knowledge, and continued support in the students of Round Valley High School.

Hey Mustang Country!

Here is an opportunity to learn and earn career certificates that takes place in Ukiah. These are good classes where you learn by working with both your hands and minds.

Mendocino College will be assisting Round Valley High School students on Tuesday in getting enrolled in courses for dual enrollment. Earn COLLEGE credit while still in High School. RVHS pays for your books and supplies for courses.
