As Microschool America begins accepting teacher applications for the upcoming school year, this season carries both grief and hope.

There is no replacing Adam. His leadership, encouragement, steady presence, and deep belief in both children and educators helped shape Microschool America into what it is today. His absence leaves spaces that simply cannot be filled in the same way.

At the same time, we believe deeply in continuing to move forward with hope. Not by trying to replace what was lost, but by continuing the work with purpose, heart, and faithfulness.

We are seeking educators who value authentic relationships, creativity, flexibility, and truly individualized learning. People who see children as whole people, who are willing to grow alongside them, and who want to be part of building something meaningful.
There are big roles to step into in this next chapter, and while this season carries loss, it also carries vision, purpose, and hope for what is still ahead.

In just 5 days, Microschool America senior Raegan Cannon will graduate from high school, but this past weekend she already reached an incredible milestone by graduating from Bossier Parish Community College with her Associate Degree in General Studies.

By earning this degree, Raegan has completed all of the general education requirements for her future bachelor’s degree. She hopes to continue her education in the field of psychology.

Over the years, Raegan has been such a meaningful part of our Microschool America community. Her sense of humor, authenticity, and genuine kindness have made her a joy to be around. She carries herself with maturity and grace, builds others up naturally, and has always been someone who brings positivity and peace to those around her. She has left a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.

One of the photos below (with the computer) was taken on the very first day of her very first college class, which makes this accomplishment feel even more special to look back on now. It wasn't always easy, but she never gave up!

We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and so excited to see what the future holds for her. Congratulations, Raegan!

Each year, during the final quarter of school, our students are invited to choose a topic that genuinely interests them. They spend weeks researching, writing essays, and preparing presentations to share their learning with peers, family, and friends during Presentation Night.

Last night, we had the joy of celebrating Presentation Night once again. From acid mine drainage to the Panama Canal to early childhood trauma and beyond, the variety of topics reflected the unique interests, personalities, and gifts of each student. More than anything, it was a beautiful reminder that learning comes alive when children are given the freedom to explore what sparks their curiosity.

We are so proud of the confidence, growth, creativity, and hard work these students displayed. It was truly a wonderful evening.

🐾 Excuse me… is this student enrolled? 🐾

This sweet (and very determined) visitor has been trying to sneak into class this week like he has a full schedule and a lunchbox waiting. Unfortunately, he isn’t on the roster…

He’s incredibly friendly, clearly loves people, and seems convinced he belongs here, especially if belly rubs are involved.

We’d love to reunite this little scholar with his family! If you recognize him or know where he belongs, please reach out.

Until then, we’re doing our best to keep him from enrolling himself full-time. 🐶📚
