Last night, our Lions did a little traveling without ever leaving Coupeville for our World Port Night!

As members arrived, each was randomly handed a ticket to “enter” one of eight world ports. Their ticket determined where they would sit for the evening—a fun way to mix things up, share a table with different Lions, and add a little adventure to our meeting!

Our guest speaker, Alix Roos, Reserve Manager for Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, gave an informative presentation about the Reserve, established in 1978 as the first national historical reserve in the United States. We are fortunate to have such an extraordinary piece of history right here in our own backyard.

And what better way to top off the evening than dinner! Prairie Center Market prepared a delicious taco bar that was enjoyed by all.

Interesting speakers, delicious dinners, a little creativity and plenty of fellowship—that’s what makes a Coupeville Lions meeting so much more than just a meeting! 🦁🌎

Tie-dye may be most closely associated with the counterculture and protest movements of the late 1960s before bursting into a colorful pop-fashion trend in the 1970s, but last night the Coupeville Lions ladies had a much simpler purpose—creativity, conversation and camaraderie!

We gathered to tie-dye our shirts, catch up with one another, share plenty of laughs and, most importantly, welcome one of our newest Lions. She mentioned that this was her first opportunity to socialize with the Lions ladies outside of a meeting—and what better way to get acquainted than over twisted shirts, rubber bands and lots of color!

Our creations are still “processing,” so the big reveal will have to wait. Stay tuned…these colorful masterpieces will make their debut in another photo shoot!

Sometimes Lionism is about serving our community, and sometimes it is simply about taking the time to build the friendships that make serving together even more meaningful. 🦁❤️

Although the official ribbon cutting for the Haller House won’t take place until August 22 at 3:00 p.m., the Coupeville Lions were treated to a special sneak-peek tour last night!

What a treasure this historic home was—and still is—to our community. It was wonderful to see how thoughtfully its history has been preserved while giving the house new life and purpose.

The evening was especially meaningful for the Coupeville Lions, who have a personal connection to this restoration. Over the course of the renovation, our Lions contributed hundreds of volunteer labor hours and thousands of dollars to help bring the Haller House back to life. Seeing the finished results made all those hours of service even more rewarding.

A huge thank you to Lynn Hyde for sharing the Haller House with us and for her extraordinary dedication to bringing this vision to life. Soon, visitors will be able to step inside, grab a soda from the old-fashioned soda fountain, rent a room for dining, or simply take a tour and soak in a little piece of Coupeville history.

Preserving history takes vision, determination, financial support—and plenty of willing hands. We are proud that the Coupeville Lions had the opportunity to play a part in preserving this special piece of our community.

The Haller House is ready for its next chapter, and we’re proud to have helped turn the page. We Serve!

Working behind the scenes is where the Coupeville Lions Club quietly helps our community shine.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful partnership with Coupeville’s three annual festivals, volunteering our time, building friendships with the organizers, and gaining an appreciation for the countless hours it takes to bring these events to life.

This weekend it was the Arts & Crafts Festival’s turn. One of our biggest responsibilities happens long before the first vendor arrives. Lions members spent more than four hours setting up the Town Green parking lot, followed by another two-plus hours tearing it all down after the festival wrapped up.

It isn’t glamorous work, but it’s important work. We are proud to lend a hand so thousands of visitors can enjoy another successful Coupeville tradition.

Thank you to the festival organizers for allowing us to be a small part of making another wonderful weekend happen. Together, we help showcase the very best of Coupeville.

💙 We Serve.

Wednesday night meetings at the Coupeville Lions Club are anything but routine. Along with guest speakers, such as Joyce Walters from Type 1 United speaking about Camp Leo, who enlighten and engage us through their presentations, we always make room for a little fun.

This week’s Tail Twister, Judi Shellenbarger, challenged everyone to wear their favorite summer hats and sunglasses. Unfortunately, Judi became ill and wasn’t able to join us, but we carried on with her idea and enjoyed a few laughs in her honor.

We missed you, Judi, and hope you’re feeling better soon. Thanks for always finding creative ways to bring smiles and laughter to our meetings!

The Town Snowmen were in need of minor touch ups, a brand new look or an embellished smile . . .nevertheless, The Coupeville Lions Snowmen Committee led by Lions Colleen Summers and Sandee Allen are proud to show off a few Snowmen who will make their grand appearance around Coupeville the first week in December.

The Coupeville Lions Club extends a heartfelt thank you to our many Friends of Lions volunteers who generously took time out of their busy schedules to help make our Annual Garage Sale a success.

Last night’s Burger Burn was another wonderful success and the perfect way to celebrate the hard work, and teamwork that made this year’s sale so memorable.

To each and every volunteer who sorted, priced, carried, greeted shoppers, or simply showed up with a willing heart—thank you. Your kindness and dedication make a tremendous difference in our community.

You know who you are… and we appreciate you more than words can say! 🥳🦁💙
