New! All About Gesso! A Special Online Zoom 7-Week Course on Making and Applying Traditional Gesso for Gilded Panels and Frames.suitable also as a Foundation for Egg Tempera Painted Panels and Iconography.

Students learn an Old World Hard and Soft Gesso Recipe as well as Pastiglia, a Technique for creating Raised Gesso as Gilded Decorative Relief for Gilded Wood, Gesso Putty for Gesso Repair and Stenciled Designs, the Ancient Technique of Applying Fabric to the Wood, Eliminating Pinholes, and a Special Tutorial for Creating Crackle Gesso as seen on early 13th-15thc Sienese and Florentine Water Gilded Painted Panels.
