TJHS Bands

Today our Symphony Band performed at the Iowa High School Music Association’s Large Group Festival. This festival allows our students to present a year’s worth of learning and growth to three selected judges.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our band earned a Division 1 - Outstanding Rating!

Delicious Butter Braids are now being sold by all of your favorite TJHS Band students! Two weeks only to get stocked up for any future events, all sales must be completed by March 17th.

Tonight at 6pm will be our annual Parade of Bands Concert! We are looking forward to hosting all of the great band musicians on the West End of Council Bluffs.

There is no cost of admission, however we will be accepting free will donations at the door. We look forward to seeing you all tonight in the Thomas Jefferson Activities Center!

This weekend we had eleven students travel to Iowa City to participate in The University of Iowa Honor Band!
This was an incredible event full of masterclasses, sectionals, rehearsals and concerts. Having our friends from AL along with made it an even better experience.

This past Wednesday, Thomas Jefferson had 18 musicians audition for the Southwest Iowa Honor Band. We are excited to announce that the following students were accepted:

Noah Smith, Clarinet - FIRST CHAIR!
Mya Otto, Trombone
Thomas Harmon, Trombone
Ethan Durham, Tuba

These students will perform in the Southwest Iowa Honor Band at Atlantic High School on January 20th, at 7:00pm! Stingers Up!
