Great start to the school year already!

How “cool” is the CBCSD Board of Education? Well, we made the the website and the flyer for this year’s convention.

While my morning drive did not allow for any fun pictures of my drive it did allow me moments to reminisce on my way to the Iowa Association of School Boards to meet about the legislative platform for the upcoming year. When we drove up for state National History Day we always stopped at the Greenfield exit to see the Freedom Rock. The exit we took for Battle of the Books. The various exits for speech competitions, show choir competitions, or just driving to the ISU library for research on National History Day. The hours public educators and we as parents dedicated to our children (and other children) in their quest of learning. Maybe the rain 🌧️ wasn’t so bad…

Yesterday was our first board meeting with our new superintendent, Dr. Ramey. The day before I had my first 1-on-1 with him as well. Welcome to the district!

In addition to school board training it is important to stay updated for my career. Lots of information on AI that I am eager to learn about.

A day of learning and development ahead. Also, with the completion of today’s hours I have met the requirement for the annual board award.

Council Bluffs schools names Iowa City's Chace Ramey as interim superintendent The Council Bluffs Community School District will be lead by Chace Ramey starting next month. The school board approved naming him interim superintendent in a meeting Friday morning.

I want to take a moment to congratulate all the district graduates today. I am unable to attend as our family is attending and celebrating our oldest daughter's college graduation today. To each and every graduate I say be proud of yourselves for this immense accomplishment and continue to strive for all that you desire in life.
