Last night, our Kindergarten teachers hosted a wonderful Literacy Night for our families!
Throughout the evening, they shared helpful strategies, modeled literacy activities, and provided simple ideas families can use at home to build strong connections around reading. Our goal is simple: school and families working together to help every child become a confident, successful reader. Learning to read is one of the most important and exciting journeys our children will take, and families play an essential role every step of the way.
Thank you to our Kindergarten team for putting together such a meaningful evening, and thank you to our families for being our Partners in Literacy!

Welcome Back to School!

Our TK/Kindergarten Orientation and 1st–4th Grade Back-to-School Night were wonderful successes! It was so great to see our students and families back on campus, reconnecting with friends, meeting teachers, and getting excited for the year ahead.

A special thank you to our Roadrunner Café crew, Evergreen Bus Drivers, Tehama County Department Of Education -SARB, Girl Scouts of Northern California and Tehama County Friends of the Library for attending both sessions and providing valuable information and resources to our families. Your partnership helps make our school community stronger!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special. We are looking forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, and partnership with our Evergreen families.

Here's to a fantastic school year together—we can't wait to welcome everyone back tomorrow morning!

That’s a wrap on another fantastic Summer ELOP!
Over the past 14 days, our students stayed busy learning, exploring, creating, and making wonderful summer memories. From engaging academic activities to hands-on enrichment and plenty of fun, it was an amazing three weeks filled with smiles and growth.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff for their dedication, enthusiasm, and care. Your commitment made this summer a memorable experience for every student. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Shasta Sweet Wheels Ice Cream Truck LLC for generously treating our SERRF students to a delicious ice cream on the final day of the program. What a perfect way to celebrate a successful summer!
We hope all of our students and families enjoy the rest of their summer break. Stay safe, have fun, and we'll see everyone on Tuesday, August 4th for Back to School Night as we kick off another exciting school year!

This summer, some of our 4th–7th grade students had the exciting opportunity to participate in a Fly Fishing Elective during our ELOP program!

Led by Evergreen Elementary teacher Mr. Soinila, students explored the art and science of fly fishing. They learned to tie rubberlegs stonefly nymphs, practiced casting with fly rods generously donated by Cast Hope, caught rainbow trout, and developed their skills in fish and insect identification.

Experiences like these help students build confidence, connect with nature, and learn new skills outside the traditional classroom setting.

A huge thank you to Cast Hope for their generous support and for helping make this memorable learning experience possible for our students!

What a fun way to wrap up the 2025–26 school year!
Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for your incredible support throughout the year. Together, we've made so many wonderful memories and celebrated countless successes.
We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break. We can't wait to welcome you back in August for another amazing year at Evergreen!

Today, we celebrated and said goodbye to four incredible members of our Evergreen Elementary family. Mrs. Van Slyke, Mrs. Sjoberg, Ms. Tina, and Ms. Cheryl have dedicated a combined 86 years of service to our district.
Throughout their careers, they have supported students in countless ways—from classrooms and buses to the playground and beyond. Their kindness, dedication, and commitment have touched the lives of so many students, families, and staff members. They truly embody the Evergreen Creed and the values that make our school community so special.
While they will be greatly missed, we are grateful for the lasting impact they have made and wish them all the best as they begin this exciting new chapter. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement!

For the past three years, our 4th grade students have proudly created and maintained a beautiful flower garden and Little Library on the Evergreen Elementary playground. This year, Scarlett from Mr. Soinila’s class was recognized as our Gardener of the Year for her dedication and hard work!

This is just one of the many examples of the creativity and pride our students show every day. We are so proud of Scarlett and all of our students who help make Evergreen Elementary such a special place to learn and grow!
