You'll develop the skills and confidence you need to conquer the trails on your bike. Mountain biking is not all that intuitive! Taking a few lessons can make a huge difference in how well you ride and how much fun you have in the woods. It's a blast when you know what you're doing.

Nice fast and flowy Christmas Day ride with hubby at Brown’s Ranch in Scottsdale after enjoying time with family outside of Phoenix.
Merry Christmas to you!

Awesome day out on the trails riding in the Superstition Mountains. This is the third of three days I took off to ride in the Scottsdale area with my friend Tina. I haven’t had a vacation in over four years, so totally needed this!

These are a few pictures of riding Hawe’s in Mesa, Arizona today.
We climbed 6.5 miles up Wild Horse to Lance’s Trail to Alp de Huez (something like that) to get to the best trails and views from Goat then took the RMR trail down the backbone ridge. An adrenaline rush for sure. Other than Sedona, I never imagined that riding in the desert would be so much fun.

Happy trails!

So much fun riding today with my Red Rockettes peeps!

This is the Mescal trail in West Sedona and it has the most incredible views. A couple years ago I rode it alone on a recommendation from one of the guys at Thunder Mountain bike shop. I was awestruck then and I feel the same way every time I’m on it.

Mescal has some technical climbing as well as exposure in a few places. In this shot the trail has a technical section right next to the tree that’s on the left then a short steep up some slick rock. A must-ride trail IMHO.

Have you ridden it?

Had a great time volunteering as the continuous sweeper for the 18-mile (three 6-mile laps) Verde Valley Hustle race today in Clarkdale, Arizona! It was great to be back in the mountain bike racing scene.

There were also 20-mile and 32-mile competitive races (with steep climbs and dangerous exposure for experienced riders only) and later in the day 12-mile and 6-mile family-oriented rides and a 2-mile kids race. I love watching the kids races. They’re so cute and full of energy and enthusiasm! Here’s a clip with an unfortunate wipeout in freshly laid pea stone as they make their way to the trail.

A beautiful day for this great community event with prizes, food trucks, and even live music at the wine-tasting center at Yavapai College where it was held.

Come on out and race it next year! Info at VerdeValleyRally dot com. Bring friends or family and stay for a while so you can "shred the red" in Sedona (right next door) while you're here. Oh, my God, the riding is incredible out here! And if you need a place to stay, get in touch with me as we may be able to accommodate your group in our 3 BR, 4 bed, 2 bath home that we rent on Airbnb.

Happy trails!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Where will you be riding tomorrow, or this weekend, for your turkey burner ride?

I know this is not a turkey, but you get the point. (A friend took this picture and it cracked me up so I wanted to share it with you.)

Watched two guys (Sean and Jared) set off paragliding from 7,815' at the top of Mingus Mountain (west of Sedona, AZ) this afternoon. Very cool to see and to chat with Jared between their flights.
