🏆🐺 Attendance Champions! 🐺🏆

Cottonwood Community School celebrated Mrs. Bauer’s 3rd grade class today for having the BEST attendance for the month of August with an amazing 97% average attendance! 🎉👏

Students were recognized with the attendance trophy and celebrated with some fun playground equipment! 🏆🛝⚽

❤️🖤 It pays to show up every day! Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

🐺❤️ A HUGE thank you to our amazing CCS cafeteria staff! ❤️🐺

Yesterday’s monsoon storm brought some unexpected challenges, and our campus had to be placed in a shelter-in-place. When students were finally released—later than usual—our cafeteria team made sure no one missed lunch!

These incredible ladies jumped into action and packed 100 lunches in just 15 minutes! 🥪👏

Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of our students. Your teamwork, flexibility, and dedication to our Lobos did not go unnoticed!

Thank you, ladies, for always putting our Lobos first! 🐺❤️

🍎 New This Year: Arizona Healthy Schools Act

COCSD Families, beginning July 1, 2026, Arizona schools must follow new requirements for foods sold, served, or shared during the school day. The new law restricts certain artificial food dyes and additives.

What families need to know:
• You may still pack any lunch or snack for your own child.
• Food shared with a class must meet the new requirements. Please check ingredient labels before sending birthday treats, classroom snacks, or other shared foods.
• Foods sold to students during the school day, including fundraisers, must also meet USDA Smart Snacks standards.
• These requirements do not apply to events on non-school days or more than 30 minutes after dismissal.

If you’re unsure whether an item can be shared at school, please contact your child’s school office.
