On August 27, Cottonwood FFA attended the first annual Wiregrass Summit at the Geneva County Farm Center. Six CHS students participated in the agri-knowledge contest as well as the livestock judging contest.

Our students did an amazing job! With only a few practices to prepare and the first time judging live animals, our two teams finished 6th and 7th out of a total of 15 teams.

These FFA members are doing exactly what our motto tells us to do: Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning to live, Living to serve. The future of Cottonwood FFA is in great hands with members like these.

After discussing various writing conventions introduced during the Modernist Era, Mrs. McNeill’s English 11 students analyzed T.S. Eliot’s dramatic monologue, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.”

Students were able to confidently identify and explain examples of figurative language, end and internal rhyme, repetition, allusions, symbolism, and theme.

We’re kicking off another season of recognizing the hardworking athletes in the Wiregrass with “The Ball” WOOF Radio!

👏🏼 Congratulations to Eli McCord of Cottonwood High School, our first Lineman of the Week of the season! Eli is a senior playing under Head Coach Dustin Harrison and earned this week’s honor for his outstanding performance on the field. ❤️🐻🖤
