Monsieur Urien is the 2026 Teacher of the Year for Butler Elementary.
As a first-grade French teacher, he is celebrated for his dedication to young learners and making magic happen as he inspires and engages students. His infectious, positive energy sparkles throughout the school.

Thank you so much PTA for holding a book fair during our Parent Teacher Conferences. We are so lucky all the students receive a $5 credit toward a book. It was so fun to see all the parents, guardians and grandparents at the Bagels and Books.

The preschool and kindergarten years are full of discovery, and naturally, a few questions. Whether you’re wondering what an average day in the classroom looks like or wanting to know how half-day versus full-day kindergarten works — Canyons School District has you covered! Join us at Crescent Elementary on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. (11100 S. 230 East, Sandy) for an Early Learning Open House to learn about our top-ranked schools & programs. Parents will have 30 minutes to visit vendor tables, followed by a brief presentation. Attendees will leave with school-readiness tips, and a free backpack, pencil case, and coloring book. You can also visit our website to learn about eligibility and find answers to frequently asked questions (scan the QR code below). Now is the time to take the leap and make a splash. Applications for tuition-based preschool and kindergarten enrollment are open through Feb. 27, 2026. Spaces are filling up quickly and we want every family to secure their spot. Questions?
