It's about having the capacity to say "YES."
Yes to the hike. Yes to getting on the floor with the grandkids. Yes to the European vacation.Yes to carrying your own groceries.
When you lose your strength, you lose your ability to say yes. Build a body that lets you say yes to life.

When our joints hurt, our instinct is to stop moving. "I'm just going to take it easy."
Unless you have an acute injury, resting is usually the worst thing you can do for joint pain.
Motion is lotion.
Proper mobility and strength training lubricate the joints and build the muscles that support them. When you "take it easy," your joints get stiffer, your muscles get weaker, and the pain actually gets worse.
Stop taking it easy.
Start moving intentionally.

It means staying highly functional, active, and vibrant for as long as possible, so that the period of decline at the end of your life is short and fast.
You don't want to spend your last 15 years surviving in a chair, watching your quality of life slowly drain away. You want to spend them LIVING!
That requires building a physical portfolio today through strength, mobility, and aerobic training.
Stay strong. Stay active. Decline fast at the end. That is the goal.

Think about the retirement you planned for. The trips, the grandkids, the hobbies, the hikes along the Wasatch.
Now think about your physical ability to do those things. Do they match up?
If not, today is the best day to start closing that gap. Don't let your retirement fund outlast your physical ability to enjoy it.
