🌸Laurel Merz as M’Lynn
Laurel is thrilled to be back on the stage at Opal. She has loved being part of staged readings particularly OPAL Reads Opal and as the “blood b*tch” for Evil Dead the Musical. She has been so thrilled to be a part of this incredible cast of talented women telling the story of the incredible power of female friendship. She thanks all the women in her life who have kept her sane with love, brunch and good advice. She sends thanks to her family who has supported this endeavor, including her oldest daughter with whom she has the great pleasure of sharing the stage with once again. Special thanks to Marc who spent many hours listening to her wax poetic about the experience and helped her with her lines, and Fred her precious real-life-baby-boy-mutt who put up with mom not being around. To the women who made this show happen- “You have no idea how wonderful you are.”

FRI JAN 30th at 8 PM - Short films are back at OPAL with “Shortcuterie II”
$10 suggested donation for tickets! Link in bio.

If you missed the first course, never fear: Shortcuterie returns, the ciné-buffet serving up an all-NEW platter of delectable genre-spanning short films hosted by local buffs (in ciñema, if not quite in abdomen) Michael Angier and Rince Turrell II Jr.!

This serving boasts 10 DIY shorts yanked from festivals across the country (and ~globe~), plus a somewhat more sustainably-sourced smattering of thematically-paired microshorts from five up-and-coming Lane County filmmakers. You’re invited to sample the delicious pathos and titillating comic turns within these 15 strange and mesmerizing tales, told 24 frames or 29.99 frames per second depending on export specs.

Yes, everything has a sequel these days, but sometimes, when you have a small plate... going for seconds ain’t a bad call.
Join us, a satisfying smorgasbord awaits*.

*no actual food will be served, please gorge before the show
