Her journey of enduring four surgeries in just four months while excelling academically and artistically is nothing short of inspiring. Kia has proven herself to be a beacon of kindness, determination, and grace under pressure.

Her dream to become a doctor stems from her deep compassion and her desire to help others navigate their own challenges, a passion fueled by her own experiences as a patient. Alongside this, her love for the ocean and curiosity about its mysteries reflect her boundless spirit and adventurous heart.

This year, Kia started her college journey at BYU-Idaho, with aspirations to continue her education at the University of Utah. Her dedication to her studies and her determination to create a bright future are evident in everything she does.

The Hyrum Tatton Phoenix Scholarship celebrates students who rise from the ashes, embodying the strength of the phoenix, by turning their education or life situation around.

To rise like a phoenix from the ashes is to embody strength and renewal. It represents the ability to emerge from challenging circumstances with greater resilience, wisdom, and empowerment.

Kaley endured a severe softball injury, underwent physical therapy and surgery, and faced immense disappointment. However, this challenging experience ultimately fueled her profound passion for pursuing a career in Physical Therapy and ignited a deep determination to assist others.

Way to go, Kaley! Thank you for inspiring us at TES Software, as well as others, by transforming a challenging situation into something positive.
