Our building sign is officially up!!! Absolutely love it!!! Painting is the project this week and flooring is scheduled to go in starting Wednesday of next week. Things are starting to come together which means I should be able to provide a firm opening date soon! Stay tuned!

A slight learning curve with the selfie stick and remote meant that I missed getting the recording of Emilyn’s initial performance of Broken Dreams from the musical Rosie at our masterclass. This just means that you get the pleasure of seeing Wendy in action!

Willow performed I’m Yours by Jason Mraz for our Masterclass. Willow was a true rockstar showing up to perform after being ill for the previous week and completely losing all vocal production just days before the workshop. This was a really awesome lesson in how to perform through illness- a necessary skill for a vocalist!

I had an absolute blast last night hosting our first ever Keys and Chords Voice Studio Masterclass with a special guest clinician, Wendy Rowe (a current voice teacher and professor at UW-Milwaukee). 5 of my students each performed a song for each other and then received 20 minutes of instruction with Wendy. A huge thank you to Wendy for providing such fantastic knowledge/instruction to our students- it was incredible! Also a huge thank you to CottageRose Coffee for allowing us to use your space for the event while we wait for construction to finish!

Once our new location is open, I plan to make Voice Masterclass workshops a fairly frequent opportunity for all voice students of the school. It is a fantastic way to provide additional performance opportunities and the chance to receive instruction from other teachers.

Megan’s piano student, Bella, is performing a song called Lemonade Stand. This song introduced a new rhythmic element called “ties” that links together two of the same note, allowing it to be held longer. Bella has also been working on keeping her wrists flatter and fingers rounded while she plays which she does a great job of in this song!! Great work Bella- so fun!!!

This lovely lady is an excellent voice teacher and has experience teaching voices as young as 10 years old up through adulthood. Kat has availability for new students in her schedule on Wednesday evenings and is comfortable teaching Pop, Musical Theater, CCM and Classical styles. Keys and Chords is excited to announce we will be opening our new location in Cottage Grove, WI this August of 2026. Construction is underway and we can't wait to be in our new space! We will provide updates on a firm opening date as able.
