This morning when I walked into the kitchen, I smelled charred bread and thought, “Okay, time to empty the crumbs out of the toaster” (because the kids don’t). When I turned it over to shake out the charred crumbs, a few half melted parts came out to 😮. So things are good here, LOL.

Many countries have been quarantined and parents are home with kids and don’t know what to do.

Now, is a good time to do some of the deep cleaning and organizing you have been putting off, -well, if you’re like most people.

Empty your kitchen counter and let the kids go to town with a scrubber sponge and a little bit of soap. Let them play with it, create shapes, enjoy the sensory sensation.

You can teach them to knit by making dishcloths. Most of the ones you buy in the supermarket create micro plastic. Yes, go back to the knitted ones your grandma made. You can use exact the color you want. Several colors for your different moods and changing weather and light. Different color families for different rooms in the house? Sunny yellow for the bathroom? Lime green for the kitchen? Plum for your living room? Blue for your dining room? What would you pick?

So, my husband bought a huge cast iron pan from Lodge, and I just had to try it. It was put to good use creating a red curry with fresh pineapple 🤤

Dice an onion and sautée it gently for a few minutes.
Added coarsely minced garlic for a few.
Dice a pineapple and add (not the core).
Pour in 2 cans of coconut milk, mix in a 5 teaspoons Thai Kitchen red curry paste.
Add carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and green peppers. Let it cook until veggies had softened. Garnished with salted, roasted cashews.
You can add lime juice at the end to brighten the flavor. Garnishing with cilantro is also a possibility (were just not fans).

THE CLEANING HABIT THAT MAY BE MAKING YOUR HOUSE DIRTIER...

If you ever think, “I’ll just add a little more soap”, you might be doing yourself a disservice. More soap, means more sticky residue, which catches dirt.

A good tip, if your water still has foam/bubbles, it still has cleaning power.

If the deed is done and you have a sticky surface with a film on it, use water with vinegar to remove the soapy residue.

Proper Hand Washing Techniques:
1) Wet your hands
2) Put on soap and rub it around your hands for 20 seconds, -between fingers and on wrists. Don't forget your thumb. (20 seconds is long enough to sing Happy Birthday to you).
3) Rinse your hands
4) Dry them off in a dryer or with a dry (paper) towel.

Stay away from wet towels, as they can host bacteria and undo the good job you just did washing your hands. If you only have a wet towel available, you're probably better off not washing your hands.
