Playdate Preschool

My name is Jacqui Holland, my husband and I have three children- two boys and a girl. I have always loved kids from a very young age, I couldn’t wait to babysit when I turned 12 and even printed out fliers and posted them around my neighborhood! I volunteered at my summer camp every summer when I aged out of being a camper. I have nannied for handfuls of families and always had a dream of owning

my own daycare one day. In 2016 (sweet ‘16) we bought our first home and from there my vision of Playdate Preschool started to come alive. In the summer of 2018 we moved my husbands childhood playhouse that his Dad built for the family from his parents home in Newport Beach to Playdate Preschool in Costa Mesa. We began restoration on it as it needed a lot of work but, we were up for the challenge. I am a sentimental person and he is a proud preserver of history. My husband is a general contractor in the area which he learned the skill of woodworking through his father, who built a huge 118 foot sailing ship in his Costa Mesa front yard in the 70’s! In 2019 we welcomed our angel girl and she quickly became a daycare baby. In 2020 we partnered with Early Einstein’s, an early education program that my sister in law created. She is a longtime teacher in Newport Mesa Unified School District. I want to inspire learning by making it super fun! I believe that kids learn so much through exploring independent free play. Experiencing the sparkle in a child’s eyes when they want to explore learning is so inspiring to me! Because I believe that is how learning should be! I am proud of the community we have built here in Costa Mesa at Playdate Preschool and love every single second of my job. I feel extremely lucky to be able to do this everyday.
