Coshocton County Head Start & Early Head Start would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Upper Room Assembly & Worship Center for collaborating with us today as we continue to spread the word throughout Coshocton County about the invaluable services Head Start provides to children and families in our community.
Thanks to this partnership, we had the opportunity to connect with multiple families who expressed interest in enrolling their children in our Pregnant Mom, Infant/Toddler, & Preschool Program. It was wonderful to share information about the comprehensive services and support available through Head Start and Early Head Start.
Our Family Advocates, Mary and Kendra, were especially excited to reconnect with several children and parents who have participated in our programs over the years. Seeing familiar faces and hearing about their continued growth and success is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
We would also like to give special kudos to The Upper Room Assembly & Worship Center for the exceptional organization and distribution of today's food pantry. The event was well-coordinated, welcoming, and efficient, ensuring that families were served with care, dignity, and compassion. Their commitment to meeting the needs of our community is truly commendable.
Thank you again to The Upper Room Assembly & Worship Center for helping us reach families and strengthen our community. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of children and families across Coshocton County!

OHSAI's newest Executive Director's blog comes from a deeply personal place and speaks to where our field stands right now.
Julie shares her thoughts about Barbara Haxton and the foundation she spent decades building for Ohio's Head Start community, about the tribute we offered her during the June Conference, and about what it looks like to carry someone's legacy forward while the ground beneath us keeps shifting. More than anything, it is a reflection on the strength and resourcefulness I see in all of you - and that leaves me with real confidence as we face whatever comes next, together.

Community partnerships make a difference!
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Coshocton County Head Start was excited to participate in a recruitment event alongside Children's Hunger Alliance's Grab & Go Food Pickup located at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds. This event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with families, share information about our Early Head Start and Head Start programs, and support efforts to meet the food needs of children and families in our community.
A special thank you to the Children's Hunger Alliance team for their kindness, acceptance, and support throughout the event. Their crew was welcoming, helpful, and eager to assist our Family Advocate, Mary McCune, in spreading the word about the valuable services and opportunities available to local children and families.
At Head Start, we know that children learn and grow best when their basic needs are met. Events like this help ensure that families have access to nutritious food while also connecting them with educational resources and support services that can help children thrive.
Did you know? Children's Hunger Alliance provides free food for children every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds. Any parent or guardian can pick up food for childrenβthere are no income restrictions. We encourage families to take advantage of this wonderful community resource.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more and to our community partners who are working every day to make a positive impact on the lives of local children and families.
