Congratulations to this week's GoWayneTV Athlete of the Week, Krayten O'Brien!

This week’s spotlight takes us back down the path and over the rolling hills with freshman cross country runner Krayten O’Brien.

Krayten competed last week at the Graceland Invitational placing 5th overall with a lifetime best mark of 18:51.

In a very solid field of freshman athletes at Wayne Community Krayten is making his mark known early in his high school career.

Congratulations Krayten, the GoWayneTV Athlete of the Week.

UPDATE: The JH Football game is now rescheduled for Tuesday, 10/6/26 at Baxter. Due to lack of officials in our area on that date, we have decided to play an away game as opposed to cancelling. Thank you for understanding.

The JH and JV Football games originally scheduled for Monday, October 5th are postponed. The JV game will NOT be made up. We are looking at a possible reschedule of the JH Football game, but that date/location has not been confirmed as of this post. We will update as soon as we get confirmation.

🩺📚 Our third graders became “Distributive Doctors” today! 👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏼‍⚕️While practicing the distributive property, students “dissected” multiplication problems to break them apart and make them easier to solve. They had so much fun bringing math to life with this hands-on activity!
A HUGE thank you to Wayne County Hospital for donating the supplies that helped us bring our activity to life! We are so grateful for our community partners who help make learning extra memorable!

HOMECOMING GAME INFORMATION

Due to the unsafe conditions of the football field, we are rescheduling our Homecoming Football game against Twin Cedars for 6:00 pm on Monday, October 5th. This was not an easy decision to come to, but the field conditions for Friday do not support a safe playing surface for our athletes. There were many alternative options considered, but we prioritized having our Homecoming Game at our home field as opposed to potentially playing at an alternate location.

ALL OTHER HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES PUT ON BY THE SCHOOL ARE UNAFFECTED BY THIS CHANGE! Boom Night will still be at 7:00 pm on Thursday.

Thank you for your understanding as we seek out the best possible solutions to these unusual circumstances. FALCON PRIDE!

UPDATE: The JH/JV Football games originally scheduled for Monday, 10/5 will not be played on this date. We are exploring alternatives for the JH Football game only.

Congratulations Lane Ogden. FALCON PRIDE!

If you watched the game this past Friday this weeks selection should be no surprise.

On both sides of the ball Senior Lane Ogden was all over the place. Leading the defense in total tackles and solo tackles, his pass coverage was also on point. Ogden provided key blocks on offense to go along with 67 yards of offense in runs and receptions with a 2-point conversion.

His effort helped lead the Falcons to victory heading into Homecoming Week.

Congratulations Lane, this weeks GoWayneTV Athlete of the Week.
