Check out our communication board!

CSD Speech Language Pathologist Megan Postelwait is a champion of helping students communicate through different modalities. She was the recipient of a Promising Practices grant and was able to create and install a communication board at the Mt. View Elementary playground to provide an inclusive communication tool for students. The board features images of common playground activities and allows students to point to the images and communicate non-verbally. "One constant I see is individuals who are scared to interact with students who communicate through different modalities. It's important for our students to learn the importance of communication and normalize communication tools that help everyone," shared Ms. Postelwait
