This week's DRC Faculty Highlight goes to Dr. Pradip Poudel. Pradip started a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Horticulture in the Department of Research Center on August 17, 2026. In particular, the center assignment is at the Western Agricultural Research Center in Corvallis. Pradip started with great enthusiasm in applying his wealth of knowledge in horticultural and specialty crop production and their nutritional qualities. Pradip earned a Ph.D. from Penn State and continued his postdoctoral research training there prior to Montana. A Bobcat Welcome to Pradip! . MSU College of Agriculture

"To be a profitable farm, you really do have to grow enough and sell enough," Eagleton says. " And to make that work, you need a distribution network – and we don't have one."

In response, Eagleton scaled-up to run Delphine Farms and the Central Montana Food Hub. The hub functions as an aggregator and online marketplace for local food products. It also offers distribution services to other farms and ranches in the area.

Meagher County is experiencing a unique countertrend among Montana’s rural counties. According to new research, it’s become known for grassroots entrepreneurship and growth. One example, the Central Montana Food Hub, aims to improve the area's business infrastructure and local food access.
