About the program:
Wee Folk is a free-play, nature based preschool age program with a strong rhythm and gentle guidance. It is a sanctuary for children to have all the time and safe space to unfold and grow into who they are in a natural peaceful, safe, environment. Children participate in seasonal festivals, growing their own food, tending to chickens, handwork and art, preparing organic nourishing meals, building small projects and so much more.

Hi, I am Ms. Caitlin. I am the lead teacher at Wee Folk Corvallis. I am a mother of 2 young children ages 3 and 6. I recently moved to Corvallis from Iowa in 2021. My family has two dogs, a cat, and now 6 baby chicks who will be attending Wee Folk as therapy animals as well. I have studied abroad and lived and taught in many other countries with my husband who I met while studying abroad in Spain. Alongside mothering and teaching, I am an artist, designer, cook, baker, gardener, and a professional Nutritional Health Coach. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in Spanish and Design. I love to do yoga when I can (and will do so with the children!) and strive to live an intentional, conscious, healthy, minimal life. I enjoy going to the ocean whenever possible with my family.

I have been studying Waldorf Early Childhood Education since 2018. I began a teacher training program with the West Coast Institute for studies in Anthroposophy in 2020, and I am finishing the certificate with the Great Lakes Waldorf Institute. I will be graduating in Summer of 2023. I have worked in Montessori and Waldorf preschool classrooms along with a handful of other teaching experiences. I feel that I can understand and relate to children on a very deep level. I believe wholeheartedly in being a model worthy of imitation in front of the children in my care.

I look forward to beginning my year with 5 children (including my son!) very soon this fall.
