Our Athletics Carwash Fundraiser is coming up in just over a week!

Stop by Advance Auto Parts in Owosso on Saturday, August 29th, from 10am-2pm to get your car shined and support Immanuel Fire Athletics!

We are excited for our future gym and field facilities to come online in the coming years but in the meantime, we have to continue renting facilities for our sports programs which can be costly.

As we round out our America 250 recognition of our school values, we come to "Valor: live for a purpose greater than self."

Our founders were willing to go the distance for the cause of liberty. When they pledged their "lives, fortunes, and sacred honor" they all understand the gravity of what that meant.

Many of these men lost homes, some were captured, some had sons killed in the war, and many lost their fortunes or made great personal investment never to be repaid.

When David approached the Israelite camp and heard the blasphemies of Goliath, he knew something needed to be done. He said "is there not a cause?" when questioned about fighting the giant.

We want students to recognize that their lives should be spent in the pursuit of worthy causes- none greater than the service of God and the promotion of the Gospel.

Our founders had a powerful vision to establish a nation where God-given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness could be freely enjoyed.

The pursuit of happiness was not meant for vice or immorality but rather to build a life and pursue bold dreams without fear or persecution of tyranny. Chief among these pursuits being the right to worship God according to the dictates of the conscience.

As the founders concluded the Declaration, they prayerfully appealed to the Supreme Judge of the Universe (Jesus Christ - Revelation 19) to vindicate them as they fought to secure the blessings of liberty for themselves and future generations.

We encourage students to desire and dream big things for God, and to recognize the liberty they have to live those plans out.

What makes America's founding truly incredible is that it came at a time in history where Scripture was in the hearts and minds of the people.

The founders understanding of liberty was rooted in the Biblical understanding that liberty comes from the victory found in Jesus Christ. These ideas have emboldened Christians of all ages to stand in faith and conscience for their beliefs no matter the cost.

Noah Webster, not a signer, but still a founder and the "Father of American Scholarship and Education" recognized: "The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only basis of true liberty... [Man] must be starved into surrender to the Savior. He must see his own utter helplessness, his own total bankruptcy of soul, before he will look to the cross where the victory was won for him."

This was the original foundation of education in America- and at IBA we will continue to point students to this foundational truth.

George Washington is known as the "Father of our Country." Henry Lee said of him that he was "first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen." He led our armies to independence, and became our first president- and he voluntarily relinquished power- setting important precedent for our nation's leadership.

At age 14 he wrote his own 'Rules of Civility" and was known to conduct himself in a most distinguished manner. America is blessed to have such honorable men like Washington at the core of our founding.

His heart for his countrymen and faith in God are shown in this circular letter to the states. At IBA, valuing others as God values them is fundamental in training students to become effective evangelists, kind neighbors, and responsible citizens.

The founding fathers of America understood what the Bible makes so clear: "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34

At IBA, we value living virtuously by respecting that what God says is right. The best service we can provide to students, parents, and our nation, is to train virtue into the next generation.

John Adams said: "It is religion and morality alone, which can establish the principles upon which freedom can surely stand."

Patrick Henry said: "It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains."
