Seniors - Complete the FAFSA at the College and Career Readiness Center on October 22nd!

The FAFSA is now open! If you're looking for guidance on completing the 2026-27 FAFSA Form, join the CCRC and UM-Flint Financial Aid department for a FAFSA Workshop on October 22nd at 6:00pm. This workshop is open to all Shiawassee County seniors and 5th year students. Laptops will be availble for use during the workshop but families will need to bring the items listed in the attached graphic. While RSVPs are not required for the event, they are encouraged. The Shiawassee Scholars Program, which identifies academically talented 8th graders in Shiawassee County, has transitioned to the PSAT 8 as the qualifying assessment to reduce program access barriers for students. This change has also shifted the induction from the spring of 8th grade to the fall of 9th grade. The 2029 Shiawassee Scholars class inductees are, in alphabetical order:

The Shiawassee Scholars Program provides resources and support to academically talented high school students to reach their full potential and is a partnership between the Cook Family Foundation and the Shiawassee Regional Education Service District (RESD). Shiawassee Scholars are provided opportunities and experiences related to: accelerated academic programs, college and campus visits, and information on college and career planning. The program began in 1999 and has recognized more than 1,300 scholars, many of whom have gone on to pursue higher education, careers, and opportunities in diverse fields.
