π¦· Natureβs Teeth: Earth & Space Students Explore the Power of Erosion π
Our Earth & Expression students recently stepped into the role of "Geomorphic Consultants" for our latest project, Natureβs Teeth, where they investigated how the "bite" of weathering and erosion is reshaping iconic global landscapes. The project challenged students to discover exactly how the microscopic properties of water create macroscopic changes at their chosen sites and what will be left of these landmarks once nature is finished with them. By analyzing the "tug-of-war" between tectonic uplift and the relentless forces of weathering, students developed complex models to show how even the smallest chemical reactions can lead to massive geological changes over millions of years. The investigation culminated in professional presentations where students shared their findings on how these processes impact human life, from the dangers of coastal landslides to the loss of vital agricultural soil. We are incredibly proud of their ability to connect complex topography and knowledge of the land to the world around them! πποΈπ¨

A gorgeous, sun-drenched picnic lunch and a fun day of team-building memories. We are so proud of our students for taking on the water and pushing their growing edge through this adventure. A special shoutout to Bryn and the Paddle-N-More Kayaking team for hosting an incredible day on the water!
