Cortland schools are at risk of losing several of our music programs. These extracurricular programs are home to many kids, who find comfort in music, drama, friendship, and connection. Please vote yes to the district budget on Tuesday, May 19. While you’re at it (voting takes place at the Jr-Sr high school) stop to hear and see what your vote will help save. The choral concert and art show will be happening that evening!

Spring concert season is right around the corner, and we’re so excited to celebrate all the hard work our student musicians have been putting in! We know this is an especially busy time of year for families and teachers, but we would be truly grateful if everyone on this list could sign up to bake or volunteer at just one concert.

Many hands make light work, and every little bit of help really does make a difference. If you’re already attending your child’s performance, bringing a baked good is an easy way to support the program, or maybe consider volunteering an hour before the concert to help with concession sales. Or, if you’re available and able, consider volunteering at a concert when your child isn’t performing—this allows other families to sit back, relax, and enjoy cheering on their musicians.

We are very excited for the students participating in NYSSMA on Saturday, April 11. If you are able, please consider donating a baked good or your time to help sell concessions.
