OWNING A GUN IS NOT A SKILL!

Buying a weapon is simple. Wearing an IFAK is also simple. Piling up emergency gear anyway.

The problem: None of that prepares you. It makes you someone who owns gear. Nothing more.

The uncomfortable truth
Gear is a crutch. Without skill, it's worthless.

A weapon in untrained hands is a risk. For you and for others.
A medical kit without action safety is ballast.
Emergency gear without a plan is self-deception.

The market sells you security.
Reality demands competence.

I went to Bass Pro Shops last night, looking at the gun counter saw that they had the G***k 45 GEN 6. So I asked to look at it. The salesman is atempting to tell me all of the features that G***k put into the new gun….. after all I am just a novice tourist .
The trigger had a lock on it. Hadn’t noticed, but I guess all their guns have trigger locks. Asked if I could feel the trigger press. Salesman was like oh, OK hang on. And he starts rattling back-and-forth and grabs a safety can in order to stick the empty gun in in order to pull the trigger. Everyone who buys a gun should know to look at how the trigger functions and how it feels.
Now the salesman has cleared the gun at least 6+ times making sure there is absolutely no am******on in it whatsoever, and nothing just surprisingly popped in the chamber without him, knowing….
After all that, I said…. Really? All of this chaos over doing a trigger press on a gun we have repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly made sure was not loaded.

That was it…. I told him never mind….. I’ll just go to a real gun store.

It’s jackasses like this to go to Walmart and walk around with their gun purposely exposed for everybody to see. Carrying in a cheap plastic holster that has no retention.

This is the kind of gun owner that will be the first one dead from his own gun.

In these are the types of people that give responsible gun ownership and carry for self-defense a bad name.

Take a competent Gun Class and learn what responsible carry is and what the consequences are when you’re irresponsible. Then we’ll think about whether you even know how to use the gun safely let alone for self-defense!!

I know I’m armchair quarterbacking but that’s one way of learning.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING THIS SOLDIER IS RUNNING FROM THE SHOOTER YES THEY ARE RIGHT...BUT. Look in His hand. He’s manipulating his pistol. I am told the military is taught to carry their guns empty chamber. And with the issues with the P320 I believe it. When the s**t hits the fan, especially with no stress training, a defender has to run away and think about how to get his gun operable before he can engage a threat. Precious seconds tick away.
