It was a lively Wednesday in the fibers studio! Both sections of ATS 108 Fibers I - Surface Design reviewed their design compositions from last week and thoughtfully curated them in the hallway critique space, where we enjoyed discussing them together. We also explored techniques like fiber-reactive dyeing, shibori, and using glue as a resist, sharing dye vats that each student mixed. These dyed fabrics will become a piecework sample, as students learn to use fabric and the sewing machine to create interesting compositions. SUNY Cortland Art
