If so SUNY Cortland is hosting a Level 1 Training on Saturday & Sunday, March 26 & 27 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. which will take place in the Mind Body Room in the Student Life Center.

✨Fitness Attendant Spotlight✨

For our last Spotlight of the semester we wanted to feature Nate DePerno! Nate is currently a Junior here at SUNY Cortland majoring in Physical Education with a projected master’s in Health Education.

How has working at the SLC helped you grow?:
Working at the Student Life Center has allowed me to grow within my professional field. I dream of being a coach one day and being in the SLC and equipment allows me to further my knowledge in this realm of sport. My position as a fitness attendant has also allows me to grow my social and problem solving skills.

What is your favorite thing about the SLC?:
My favorite thing about the SLC are the people. After working just one semester here, I have been able to meet great people that I now call friends. We are all on the same mission: enforce rules for safety, be a helping hand when needed, and have a nice chat. I wouldn’t trade the connections I have made for the world, and I am grateful for everything this job and the SLC has provided me.

Nate is one of our most dedicated employees. He has only been with us for one semester and has taken the SLC by storm leading him to a much deserved promotion to Building Manager in the spring. Congratulations on the new position and thank you for all your hard work!

Who knew dogs made such good lifeguards?

If you’ve never been to the pool at the Student Life Center, please stop by! There’s a huge whirlpool bath, 8 lap lanes, a basketball hoop, and a resistance walk!

The current hours Monday through Friday are 6-8am, 11:30-1:30pm, and 7-10pm. On weekends we are open 7-10am and 7-10pm.

Did you know that the SLC has two golf simulators?! If you don’t have golf clubs we’ve got you covered! You can rent them out at Equipment Checkout for FREE! To rent the golf simulator as a student is only 10 dollars an hour!

If you are an avid golfer but don’t love the cold, or just bored and like to try new things, come to the Student Life Center and try it out with a few of your friends!

The golf simulator is open from 6am to midnight on weekdays, and 7am to midnight on weekends. There is a limit of 4 people per simulator, and they are all covered under the $10 per hour fee.
