Every family’s motivation to partner with our program is unique. That being said, here are some links that may be beneficial in making your decision.

Timeline – While there are au pairs currently in the country and looking for a family on a more immediate basis, we see on average that it takes 3-4 months for our overseas au pairs to join their host families in the USA. This timeline includes from the time you register to welcoming an au pair into your home. If you’re looking to welcome your au pair soon—register HERE!

What is expected of my family – Host Family Requirements

Support – As part of program regulations, your local childcare consultant will be contacting you and your au pair each and every month and will also be offering two host family events per year which is a great opportunity for you to meet and network with other families on the program. Their role is to support you and answer any questions or concerns which might arise over the course of your au pair’s term and these monthly contacts are a great opportunity to do that!

More great news for the au pair program! The Biden administration announced last week that, effective November 8th, fully vaccinated foreign nationals will be eligible to enter the USA. This news marks a turning point for what has been a very challenging time for the au pair program, and we are very much looking forward to bringing host families and au pairs together, and with more predictable and reliable timelines.

In anticipation of this change, Cultural Care staff in our offices around the world are working to understand the status of embassy operations locally so that we can help au pairs get their visas as quickly as possible. At the same time, we are taking steps to ensure au pairs will meet the expected travel requirements by confirming their vaccination status.

We're excited to chat with host mom Kacy Andrews tomorrow! She's mom to the (who star on Fuller House) and their older brother Sawyer. With three boys in the house, having male au pair Gonçalo from Portugal as part of their family has been a lifesaver!

Great news!

We're so excited to share that plans have been announced by the Biden administration to ease travel restrictions for foreign nationals coming into the U.S. starting in early November. According to the plan, foreign travelers entering the country by air will be required to show proof of vaccination and proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days prior to boarding their flight. We are awaiting further details, but wanted to share this important step for our program and our participants.
