Welcome back, MMS students!

There’s nothing quite like seeing our campus come alive again. Classrooms are full, friendships are reconnecting, and a new year of learning, exploration, and discovery is officially underway.

We’re thrilled to welcome our students and families back to Marin Montessori and can’t wait to see all that the 2026–27 school year has in store.

Rested, recharged, and ready for an incredible year!

And just like that, the campus is quiet! We're officially off for the summer to recharge, reset, and enjoy some well-earned rest.

What an absolutely incredible school year it has been. We are so grateful for our wonderful community of students, staff, and families who made every day meaningful. We will be back in August, rested and ready to kick off the 2026-27 school year together.

While we are away, we encourage you to peruse Grounded and Soaring. It is packed with insightful podcasts and articles specifically designed to support you in raising healthy, resilient kids in a world that can too often feel unhealthy. It’s the perfect companion for some thoughtful summer listening and reading.

Summer is here, and with it comes a phrase many parents know all too well: "I'm bored."

What a beautiful morning to wrap up an incredible school year!

On Thursday, our community gathered for our all-school End-of-Year Celebration. The morning was filled with joy, connection, and a few happy tears as we honored our 6th Year Honorees and Junior High Graduates with a wonderful selection of speeches. We were also treated to beautiful Gifts of Song from our classrooms, Pelican, Song Sparrow, Great Blue Heron, Burrowing Owl, Quail, Chickadee, Mourning Dove, and the Upper Elementary.

Thank you to all the families, students, and staff who made this morning and this entire school year so deeply meaningful.

The campus is officially quiet, the sun is shining, and summer is here! Wishing our entire school family a safe, restful, and memory-filled summer break.

The Junior High graduation ceremony always impresses, but this year's was off the charts. On Wednesday evening, the Class of 2026 captured just how rare and special MMS is.

Taking the podium, the graduates shared deeply personal, moving speeches and performances filled with wisdom, humor, vulnerability, maturity, and, above all, genuine humanity.

While we are certainly going to miss having this remarkable group on campus, any sadness we feel is entirely overwhelmed by the hope and pride we hold for them.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We cannot wait to watch you carry the MMS spirit into the world as true citizens of consequence.

Summer is also a season for connection.

Episode 2 of our “Preventing the Summer Slide” series focuses on elementary-aged children and the important role social interaction plays in their growth and development.

In this clip, Minnie Wales, Director of Education for Elementary, discusses how summer creates opportunities for children to deepen friendships, build independence, and strengthen their connection with peers through shared experiences, even something as simple and timeless as a sleepover.

Learning doesn’t only happen through worksheets or academics. Some of the most meaningful growth happens through conversation, collaboration, problem-solving, and time spent together.
