Starting next week Gibbs Middle School will be participating in a community food drive against the Halls community schools. Students at GMS can start bringing in non-perishable food items on Monday the 24th. All food will be weighed and picked up on Thursday the 27th. Also, monetary donations can be given. $1 will equal one pound of food. Cash only and no loose change, please. The homerooms with the most weight from each grade level will receive breakfast. For the winning grade level teachers at GMS, Coach Swift will do 1 week of your morning duties for you. The overall food drive community winner will be announced on live television during the Gibbs vs. Halls football game on Friday, August 28th. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make our school cookout such a special celebration for our students and staff.
A huge thank you to IGA Food Country for generously donating the majority of our cookout needs, including hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, toppings, drinks, chips, plates and propane. Your kindness and support helped make this event possible, and we are so grateful for your investment in our school community.
Thank you to Clear Springs Baptist Church for volunteering your time, donating delicious cookies, and providing the use of a grill and propane. Your willingness to serve and support our school means so much to us.
Thank you to TVA Employees Credit Union for sending four volunteers to help serve and support our students and staff throughout the event.
We are so grateful to Salem Baptist Church’s Student Pastor for jumping in and helping make the day run smoothly.
Thank you to YOKE for providing volunteers and fun yard games that added so much excitement and joy to the celebration.
A special thank you to Rusty Wallace Automotive for generously providing ice cream for our students and staff. It was such a fun treat and helped make the day extra memorable.

Important information for rising freshman!

Calling all future Eagles (and their families)!

We’re excited to invite you to our 8th Grade Parent Night on Thursday, February 26th from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

Join us in the auditorium for an informational session with information on our Freshman Academy, followed by time in the big gym, where you’ll learn more about all that GHS has to offer your student in the coming years. This is a great opportunity to meet staff, ask questions, and get a preview of high school life!

Additionally, on the morning of February 27th, our local middle schools will bring students to campus for a special welcome and preview event as they begin preparing for next year.

We can’t wait to meet our future Eagles! 🦅
