The first day of school is almost here! As our Wolverines get ready to return, we want to make sure families have the information they need for a smooth start and end to each school day.

🚌 BUS ROUTES
• If you have not been notified or your transportation needs have changed, please call the school to get updated information.

🏫 ELEMENTARY | WASHTA
• 7:40 AM – Breakfast Starts
• 8:05 AM – Students Enter Building/Breakfast Ends
• 8:10 AM – School Begins
• 3:20–3:30 PM – Bus Loading
• 3:30 PM – Parent Pickup

🏫 SECONDARY | CORRECTIONVILLE
• 7:20 AM – Breakfast Starts
• 7:55 AM – Hallway Bells Ring/Breakfast Ends
• 8:00 AM – School Begins
• 3:40 PM – Walker & Parent Pickup Dismissed
• 3:45 PM – Bus Loading

Please help us keep arrival and dismissal running safely and smoothly by following these times and procedures. We appreciate everyone's patience as students, families, staff, and bus drivers settle into our routines during the first few days of school. If you have transportation adjustments or daily changes, please contact the school office.

Hotdogs and chips will be served in the lunchroom during the Open House.

Whether this is your child's very first year at River Valley or they already know the halls by heart, we hope you'll stop in, say hello, and help us kick off another great year together.

Our staff has been working hard to get classrooms ready, prepare for our students, and make River Valley a place where every child feels welcomed and ready to Lift. Learn. Lead.

❤️🐾 THANK YOU, FARM CREDIT! 🐾❤️

River Valley Community School District would like to extend a huge thank you to Farm Credit for their generous monetary contribution to our River Valley Backpack Program!

Our Backpack Program helps make sure students and families have access to food and essential items when they may need a little extra support. Contributions like this allow us to continue caring for our students beyond the classroom and meeting needs throughout our River Valley communities.

We are incredibly grateful to have community partners like Farm Credit who are willing to invest in our students, our families, and our schools. Your generosity makes a difference, and we appreciate your support of the Wolverines!

The start of a new school year is right around the corner, and we can’t wait to welcome our Wolverine families back to River Valley! Join us for our upcoming Elementary and Secondary Open Houses:

📚 River Valley Elementary – Washta
Thursday, August 20, 5:00–7:00 PM
Come meet our staff, visit classrooms, and get ready for a great year! Hotdogs and chips will be served in the lunchroom.

🐾 River Valley Secondary School – Correctionville
Monday, August 24, 1:00–4:00 PM
Students and families are invited to stop in, meet staff, visit classrooms, and prepare for the year ahead.

🎓 Freshman Orientation, 4:00–5:00 PM
We especially encourage our incoming freshmen and their families to join us as we help make the transition to high school a great one!

🐾 Help Us Get Our Wolverines There! ❤️🖤

Extracurricular activities are an important part of the student experience at River Valley, and sometimes we just need a few more people to help get our students where they need to go!

We are looking for part-time Transportation Chauffeurs to help transport students to practices, activities, and events throughout the school year.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible, occasional hours and some extra income while making a real difference for our students.

And don't let the chauffeur requirement scare you away! The process is easier than you might think, and we would be happy to help guide you through each step.

You don't have to commit to every trip. Even being available to help occasionally can make a big difference in keeping opportunities available for our Wolverines.

We are so fortunate to be part of such a supportive community! ❤️🖤

A huge THANK YOU to our friends at Driftwood for helping organize this wonderful way to welcome our River Valley staff back for another school year. We are incredibly grateful for local businesses like Driftwood and all of our community partners who continually find ways to support our students, staff, and schools.

And to everyone who has already contributed — thank you! Your generosity and support mean more than you know, and we can’t wait to share this special welcome with our staff when they return on August 19.

☕ While you’re at it, stop into Driftwood, grab yourself a coffee or something delicious, and show some love to one of our great local businesses! If you’d like, you can also add a little something to the growing River Valley Staff Welcome Back while you’re there.

It truly takes a community, and we’re proud to call this one ours.

Best of luck to all of our River Valley students participating in the Woodbury County Fair this week!

Whether you're showing livestock, exhibiting a project you've worked hard on all year, competing in events, or simply representing our community, we're proud of the dedication, responsibility, and perseverance you've shown.

Enjoy the experience, learn something new, support one another, and most importantly—have fun!

At River Valley, we're proud to partner with neighboring school districts to provide our students with even more opportunities to learn, compete, and grow. Through our cooperative with OABCIG, River Valley high school students have the opportunity to participate in both Falcon Football and Falcon Volleyball.

If your student is interested in participating this season, now is a great time to get involved! Camp is a wonderful opportunity to meet teammates, work with coaches, build skills, and prepare for the upcoming season.

🚌 River Valley will provide transportation to and from camp, making it even easier for our students to participate.

Please review the flyer for camp dates, times, transportation information, and registration details. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the River Valley office.
