We are excited to announce a new Gracie Allegiance Texas Membership Update for our teams and affiliates. Moving forward, we will be offering three world-class seminar opportunities each year exclusively for our members, at no additional seminar cost.

This includes our annual seminar with Professor Clark Gracie, along with additional adult and youth seminar opportunities featuring some of the best professors, senseis, competitors, and technical minds we can bring to our team.
Our purpose is simple: continue raising the standard and provide our members access to the highest quality instruction and training possible.

Last night’s 7PM Professors. There is something rare about men who spend decades in the dojo together. Anyone can train for a season, and anyone can wear a belt, but to remain, keep showing up, being tested, corrected, humbled and refined year after year is another matter entirely. At the black belt level the work doesn’t end; you simply begin to understand the work differently. After enough years together you have watched one another win, lose, struggle, mature, build families, endure hardship and continue walking the Way. Eventually you no longer simply know a man’s technique, you know his character, and more importantly, you have been there long enough to witness the refinement of it.

That is the value of Brothers of the Way. Men who have stood beside one another long enough to understand that loyalty is more than agreement. We sharpen one another, correct one another, challenge one another and, when necessary, carry one another. Years reveal character and decades refine it. There is an accountability in that kind of love that cannot be manufactured or rushed.

📜 Says “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” — Ecclesiastes 4:12. Perhaps that third strand is what gives the brotherhood its true strength - God woven through the middle of it.

O' Sensei taught me that we are never too young to begin learning and never too old to continue learning.
The longer we walk this path, the more truth there is in those words. Black belt was never the destination, It simply gave us enough experience to recognize how much of the journey still remains and enough wisdom to value the Brothers of the Way God has allowed us to walk it with.

Thank God for the sacred dojo work 🔨. Thank God for the brothers who have shared the Way. And thank God for the privilege of walking a path worthy of a lifetime’s attention. Some bonds are made by friendship. Others are forged through decades of truth, pressure, accountability and God.

The old masters understood that cleverness alone is not wisdom, and ignorance is no virtue either. The Way requires a mind humble enough to learn, disciplined enough to obey, and wise enough to act. In the dojo, as in life, neither talent nor intelligence can replace character, good judgment, and faithful practice. ⛩️🥋⚔️

One of the marks of a true martial artist is that his discipline does not depend on a place. When life moves him, the practice moves with him.

John recently relocated to Austin for work, but his rhythm remains the same—showing up for the morning classes, staying consistent in his training, learning, helping his teammates and making himself useful wherever he is planted. That says far more than any rank ever could.

The dojo should eventually become something you carry within you. New city, new academy, new training partners—but the same discipline, humility and willingness to serve.

A great first Association Collaboration today with Gracie Allegiance Victoria, Portland, Telos Martial Arts and Corpus Christi teams. This gathering has been a long time in the making, and I am grateful for every Professor, leader and teammate who continues to show up and put in the work. Anything worth building takes time, labor and faithful people, and today was a good expression of the inward work already taking place throughout our teams.
There is something rewarding about watching God's timing bring together what many hands have been quietly building.

Our mission is very clear: world-class Jiu Jitsu, world-class technique, and world-class citizens. We want all three. Skill on the mat should eventually produce something useful beyond it—discipline, character, responsibility, leadership and service.

Today's Kogi teaching was Do — The Way. Dojo means “Place of the Way,” and Kodokan, “Hall for the Study of the Way.” That old educational model reminds us why we gather - Kata teaches it. Randori tests it. Kogi explains it. Mondo examines it. Life reveals whether we actually learned it. For us, the Way ultimately finds its foundation in Christ: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” — John 14:6.

Our next Association Collaboration will be hosted at Telos Martial Arts in Aransas Pass, date and time TBA. Until then, we continue the work as a team — line upon line, brick upon brick.
