Ricardo ISD and Driscoll Independent School District have officially completed Module 1 and 2 of the 2026–2027 Texas Mathematics Academies Pilot! 📐✨
Ricardo ISD and Driscoll ISD are proud to be one of the 27+ leading ESC-2 school districts getting a head start on the state mandate. All Texas K–3 classroom teachers, principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, and math interventionists are required to meet the upcoming House Bill (HB) 2 requirement by learning and implementing research-based strategies in fluency and problem-solving to deliver effective, high-quality math instruction.
We are so proud of the dedication our ESC-2 educators are showing to give our students the best foundation possible! 🙌

The ESC2 Appraisal Team and TIA Team were proud to partner with George West ISD to provide Student Learning Objectives (SLO) training.

Leading the way in AI awareness and governance across Texas!
This summer, team members from ESC Region 2 traveled to Amarillo to collaborate with Education Service Centers from across the state and build an AI Future Ready Coalition—a collaborative effort dedicated to addressing the growing AI policy and support needs of Texas school districts.
During the training hosted by ESC Region 16 in Amarillo, presenters covered varied topics.
K-12 AI Guidance & Guardrails: Establishing safe, effective frameworks for classroom and administrative use.
Governance & Policy: Helping school systems craft proactive, responsible policies.
HSAI Identification: Learning how to identify and evaluate High-Risk AI (HSAI) systems to ensure data privacy and security.
Dr. Javier Trevino, Marco Mendez, and Dr. Katherine Hewett earned their state certification in DIR (Texas Department of Information Resources) Artificial Intelligence Awareness!

This week, Freer ISD paraprofessionals spent a full day diving deep into the world of Blended Learning!
Dr. Katherine Hewett had a fantastic day leading an immersive, hands-on training for these dedicated educators—who are also currently earning their bachelor's degrees and teaching certifications through an area university! 🎓🌟
Here is a look at what they tackled during this session:
The Core Foundations: Explored the 5 pillars of blended learning, core learning stations, and dynamic station rotations.
Redefining Their Role: Unlocked new strategies to support, facilitate, and guide students in a modern blended learning environment.
Tech & Innovation: Hands-on exploration of instructional technology apps—including how to utilize AI as a powerful instructional tool in the classroom!
Gamified Learning: Put their own knowledge to the test using gamification tools to review key concepts.
Collaborative Design: Worked collaboratively and designed their own blended learning spaces to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts through creative design.
