For Connor Mason ’27, nothing beats a day at Dell Diamond.⚾️
A fully online sport management student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Mason is completing his practicum at the home of the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
Living with cerebral palsy and navigating the ballpark in his power chair, Connor proves that passion and perseverance can open doors to amazing opportunities. A love of baseball doesn't hurt, either.
Through this practicum, he’s gaining the experience he needs for a career in the game he loves.

Practice makes perfect⚽️🌴
This spring, members of the Islanders Women’s Soccer Team traded practice drills for coaching roles, mentoring dozens of local elementary students through a free youth soccer clinic at Gloria Hicks Elementary. What started as a small Honors College service project by student-athlete Cilia Leal Cardona ’28 has grown into a program impacting 60–70 students each week.
This week, we welcomed a select group of university supporters to step inside our under-construction Arts and Media Building, the future home of our performing arts programs at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
The "behind the curtain" tour included an opportunity for supporters to literally leave their mark on the building with their signature. The new 85,000-square-foot facility will house TAMU-CC's music, theatre, and dance programs, bringing together students, faculty, and community members in a space designed for collaboration, creativity, and artistic expression.
More than a building, this investment will help prepare future artists, educators, and innovators who will enrich our communities, foster entrepreneurship, and strengthen the cultural vibrancy of the Coastal Bend. Construction on the Arts and Media Building is expected to be complete in November 2026.
