On Saturday Dec. 2, 2017 Tony Wood, Wayne Fellers, Terry Gearing, and Andrew Dittmar of the NSCS joined a salvage effort headed by Taylor Hecht to refloat the Columbus Ship Nina in Corpus Christi Marina. Taylor stayed for 2 more days plugging leaks and today finally got the ship afloat. The Nina isn't yet ready to sail across the ocean. She will be taken to Aransas Pass for repairs soon. But we are all very glad to have had the opportunity to share in this part of the coastal bend's recovery process from the wrath of Hurricane Harvey.
