Hello, Starfish Community!

Something spooky and scientific, is brewing at Faye Webb! Join us for Spooky Science Night on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. in the Faye Webb cafeteria.

Our fifth-grade Starfish, along with students from Veterans Memorial High School and Kaffie Middle School, will share STEM activities and demonstrations. All Starfish are welcome! Please see the attached flyer for more information on how to participate.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Please enter through the cafeteria doors and remain seated in the cafeteria until the event begins.

We can’t wait to see you there for a frightfully fun night of discovery! 🧪⭐

Governor Greg Abbott’s official press release has named Faye Webb Elementary School a 2026 LONE STAR RIBBON SCHOOL! 🏆🎗️⭐️

Today, our Starfish community has an incredible reason to celebrate! Faye Webb Elementary is one of only 25 public schools across the entire state of Texas to receive this prestigious recognition for 2026.

The Lone Star Ribbon Schools program continues the legacy of the former National Blue Ribbon Schools program and recognizes Texas public schools for outstanding academic performance and meaningful progress in closing achievement gaps.

According to the Texas Education Agency, recognized campuses demonstrate exceptional achievement in areas including reading and mathematics, success across student groups, and progress in closing achievement gaps.

This recognition belongs to our STUDENTS who show up every day ready to learn. 💙

It belongs to our TEACHERS AND STAFF who believe in our students, set high expectations, and put in the work every single day. 🍎

It belongs to our PARENTS AND FAMILIES who trust us, support us, and remain incredible partners in their children’s education. 🤝

And it belongs to our entire STARFISH COMMUNITY that continues to believe in what is possible at Faye Webb Elementary! ⭐️

Attention, Starfish Community! ⭐

We would like to share a few important updates and upcoming events.

Next week, we will celebrate College and Career Readiness Week! Please review the attached flyer for our fun dress-up days. We look forward to seeing our Starfish students participate!

We also conducted a lockdown drill today. If your child mentions it at home, please know that it was only a safety drill designed to help our students and staff practice the procedures that keep everyone safe.

Finally, we have a friendly reminder regarding Starfish Lunches. If you bring food, please bring it only for your own child. We also ask that students eat only with their attending family members and that friends remain at their assigned tables. These guidelines help us follow campus health and safety procedures, particularly those related to food allergies.

As you may know, Faye Webb Elementary is proud to be part of a STEM grant, giving our students even more opportunities to explore, create, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life through science, technology, engineering, and math! 🔬💻⚙️➗

Cruz is giving us a glimpse of what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to showcase even more of the amazing STEM skills and creativity happening right here at Faye Webb! 🚀
