Should visceral fat be on the screening report?
Ana Rosa Gratitude, MD, PhD, has been a radiologist for 28 years.
She sees visceral fat on most of the scans she reads.
Today, she includes it in her reports.
At the San Diego Symposium in August, she presented Visceral Fat and Inflammation.
Her message: common is not the same as normal.
She wants radiology used for prevention, not only at the end of the line.
There is no CPT code for visceral fat screening yet, and she is advocating for one.
Earlier in the symposium, she also gave a talk on The Science of Gratitude for Metabolic Health.
There she reminded us that building health is not only about what's on the plate.
She speaks openly about her own food addiction, and about the question she learned to ask at the fridge.
Am I hungry, am I thirsty, or do I need a hug?
Gratitude became one of the tools she uses.
Dr. Ana Rosa is board certified in radiology in the U.S. and Brazil.
She returns to the Symposium this January.
For the first time, the symposium comes to San Antonio.
A great opportunity for people in the area to join.
A dedicated day of sessions will explore the metabolic and behavioral drivers of food addiction.
Emerging research, clinical strategies, and the real-world barriers that make change hard.
We're excited to have Dr. Ana Rosa presenting.
Held at The Plaza Hotel, San Antonio
